This led to my becoming a professionally qualified local tour guide. My love for Asian culture has provided me balance and expanded my worldview (I previously lived in China for 5 years, where I learned to speak fluent Mandarin and now I am studying Japanese). In addition to my passion for all things Italy, my interests include music, dance, and Italian cuisine (I'm a big sweet tooth and Italian foodie!). I enjoy working with all people regardless of race, age, or sexual orientation. I particularly enjoy working with children and witnessing their awe as they first experience these Italian sites. During our 2 hour tour, you will experience and learn the unique story of Pompeii, the ancient city buried and preserved under layers of ash as a result of the eruption of Vesuvius in 79AD. We will visit the most important areas of Pompeii and I will answer important questions such as: Why did the Romans build the city next to a fire spitting volcano? I will meet you at the Porta Marina Entarance (located 2 minutes downhill from the Pompei Scavi train station). Our tour will include visits to: - the Marina Gate - the Suburban Bathhouse - the Basilica - the Forum main square - bakery shop - the intricate mosaics of the rich villas - the impressive plaster casts YOUR ID IS REQUIRED ON THE DAY OF VISIT. IT'S STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO PURCHASE THE POMPEII ENTRANCE TICKETS IN ADVANCE (20 euros per adult).
