Dario gave us a fantastic and memorable experience in Pompei. He was so friendly and knowledgeable, and by the end we felt like he was an old friend. He went above and beyond in tailoring the tour to our interests and questions and even went way past the timeslot of 2 hours (with our approval of course). He was able to provide so many perspectives on what we were seeing - archeological, historical, and that of a typical Italian citizen. Even though he is an actual archeologist, his descriptions were not dry/academic at all, he really brought the place to life. We were amazed by the scale of Pompei, how much has been preserved, how advanced their society was (especially when it came to women's rights), and that there is so much left unexcavated (and the reasons why this is). Dario also gave us a recommendation on a restaurant in Sorrento (Pizzeria Franco) that we really enjoyed.

My name is Dario and I'm from Sorrento, in the bay of Naples. I have a University Degree in Foreign Languages specializing in History ("Orientale" University of Naples) and a second University Degree in Archaeology ("Luigi Vanvitelli" University of Santa Maria Capua Vetere).
