Hello everybody, my name is Francesco. I'm a licensed tourist guide for the Campania Region. Local history is my great passion since I was a child and I feel lucky to have grown up in Torre Annunziata, a town by the sea in the middle of the amazing Bay of Naples, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius and just 5 minutes away from the ruins of Pompeii. I've been working giving tours for 18 years. After my studies, initially, I collaborated with some Mt. Vesuvius volcano guides, as a courier on a private bus with a private driver to pick up guests from different hotels and to lead them to the crater for a tour of the volcano. Later, I got the license as a local tourist guide and since then, every day I'm in a different fantastic place of the Campania Region: Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Amalfi Coast, Mt. Vesuvius, Sorrento, Naples, Paestum, Phlegraean Fields. I have had a lot of experience leading shore excursions for cruise passengers and leading tours for families, couples and small parties. My tours are easy. I give all the historical, artistic and archaeological details but also information about food, customs and way of life of the locals. I also love telling anecdotes and funny stories related to the local history and traditions. Of course, you know that Italy is the country of the good food. Campania Region is popular for its specialities and no doubt everywhere we go I can recommend you a place "for locals" to let you taste the most typical delicacies. Also, I collaborate with local food and beverage producers to arrange demonstrations and cooking classes (for pasta, mozzarella cheese, wine, coffee, pizza, pastries, ice cream, olive oil, limoncello, etc. ). It's possible to customize the tours to your needs. Please, send me a message to let me know your requests and we can build up your tours together. I would like you will experience your tours in the Bay of Naples with me. Look forward to meeting you. Licensed Tourist Guide of Campania Region, Italy Master of European Studies, Camera di Commercio Belgo-Italiana and Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium Master Degree in Business Economics, Università degli Studi di Napoli "Parthenope", Italy I am not a driver. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Pompeii and Herculaneum are two of the most important archaeological sites in the world. The two archaeological areas seem to be very similar but I will let you see that - by looking at them from several points of view - they are also pretty different each other. My long-standing work with the volcano guides made me get some expertise in volcanology as well, and that's why I will also show you that even the state of preservation of Pompeii and Herculaneum is different, despite they were affected by the same eruption. Plus, I'll talk about what would happen today if Mt. Vesuvius - that is a still active volcano - erupts again. At the end of the tour you'll have got a lot of knowledge about how different lifestyle could be in different ancient Roman cities and how destructive nature can be. I invite you to join me in this amazing journey full of stories and my knowledge. I love telling people stories that will make them feel like being in that time and space. . . Like travelling back in time, in this case
We meet where previously agreed for the pick up and drive to Pompeii. In Pompeii, we focus on the public life of the ancient Romans, because the public buildings are more numerous and better preserved than in Herculaneum. We go to see the theatres, the baths, the "red light district", the city centre and the famous "petrified bodies". After the tour of Pompeii we get in the car and drive to Herculaneum. You can decide to have lunch in Pompeii, Herculaneum or in a place on the way before the tour of Herculaneum. In Herculaneum, we can have a better and more intimate look at the private life of the ancient Romans. We see the skeletons of the victims and go to visit different private houses and shops. We spend approximately 2 hours per each archaeological site plus time for lunch if you want to have it between the two visits. At the end of the tour we drive to the place we previously agreed for the drop off.
