Hi, I'm Dario, a licensed local guide in Naples with 10 years of experience and a background as tour manager on cruise ships across the Mediterranean. You only get one shot at this trip. I make sure you don't spend it wandering around without understanding what you're looking at, or stuck with a guide who barely speaks your language. Beyond what's required for the license, I've spent years studying the history, art and archaeology of this area on my own, because I don't want to just recite dates, I want to actually understand what we're looking at, and help you understand it too. That's still my job: not reciting dates, but making you feel the 3,000 years of history behind Naples, so it becomes the part of the trip you'll talk about for years. About me: degree in Economics, background in luxury hotels, tour operators and cruise lines, which took me across most of the Mediterranean and many European capitals. Overview of your Naples tour

This tour is a combination of beauty, art, history, archaeology, and taste. You will visit two gems: Pompeii and Naples, making a stop for lunch to enjoy the original Neapolitan Pizza. First you visit the archaeological park of Pompeii. There you live the sensation of taking a time machine which bring you to the Romans times 2000 years ago. The richly decorated houses, the sophisticated thermal baths and the incredible theatre will amaze you. Someone once said: "Pompeii is the liveliest of dead towns". It makes sense because when you walk on its streets you have the sensation that life is still going on. Then you will reach Naples where first you stop for lunch to eat a delicious pizza. After that you walk to see the most important monuments of Naples. You see the Angevin Castle named "Maschio Angioino", the Royal Opera House of San Carlo, "Piazza del Plebiscito" which is the biggest square of the city, that overlooks the Royal Palace. At Toledo Street you visit the amazing Umberto Gallery.

Our day with Dario was amazing. Dario was waiting for us as we left the cruise terminal and we quickly set out on a brief walking tour covering the highlights of Naples. He then took us to a wonderful restaurant where we were able to enjoy pizza in the town where it was invented. Following lunch, we met our driver and headed to Pompeii. Here Dario shared his wealth of knowledge in a fun but very informative walk through the streets of Pompeii. Highly recommend this tour! Dario was very easy to work with.

Dario was an excellent guide. We toured Pompei and his wealth of knowledge was amazing. He took us to a local restaurant in Napoli for lunch and Prosecco and it was amazing. Lastly he took us to a cafe for desserts and a cappuccino. I highly recommend booking him for a tour and will consider booking him again when we return to Napoli. Thank you Dario!

Your Naples tour itinerary

The tour starts at the Port of Naples where you meet me and the driver. Then you drive to reach the archaeological park of Pompeii. The visit of the park takes approximately 2 hours during which you see the highlights of this amazing ancient city. Then you drive again as far as Naples to stop for lunch to enjoy the original Neapolitan Pizza. After lunch you walk for approximately 1 hour to see the most beautiful and representative buildings and monuments of Naples: the Castel named "Maschio Angioino", the Royal Opera house, "Piazza del Plebicito", the Royal Palace, and The Umberto Gallery. At the end you will walk to reach the ship at the Port of Naples.
