Hi to everyone, I'm Paolo. I'm an archaelogist and I have been working as tourist guide (license n° 1792 of the Campania Region) for several years . I was born in in the middle of the bay of Naples, by the mount Vesuvius. I have always loved history and archaeology, also because, where I live, there are the incredible excavations of Herculaneum. Since I was a child, I loved entering in Herculaneum and in Pompeii where I was amazed by the classical civilization. So I turned my passion into my work, being a licensed tourist guide. I graduated at the "L'Orientale" University in Naples obtaining a master's degree in Classical Archaeology "cum laude" and during my training I participated in several excavation campaigns in Pompeii and Cuma. I know very well even the city of Naples, where its historical center is Unesco Heritage, the bay of Pozzuoli and the Amalfi Coast: Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. It's a unique place in the world where you can breathe a magical air. It's also famous for its food, just think that the pizza Margherita was born here. I love my land rich of history and culture. Being an archaeologist, I excavated a house in Pompeii with my university professor. An incredible experience that I will always carry with me. Pompeii for me is simply a magical place that will leave you with an unforgettable memory of how a Roman city was made in all its public, private, civil, and religious aspects. - The ancient city of Pompeii is probably the most important archaeological site in the world. It was an agricultural and commercial center where about 20. 000 people lived. The eruption of Vesuvius by A. D. 79 the ditrusse and covered it under about 8 meters of pumice, lapilli and ash. The tour lasts about 2 hours and will be a journey through history where you will see houses, theaters, baths, shops, brothels, casts of the victims, in an incredible state of conservation. It is a unique emotion to visit a Roman city that integrates in all its architectural aspects. - Visit of Mount Vesuvius until to the crater.

Here we're visiting: - The Large Theatre - The Small Theatre - A bakery shop - The House of the Menander - The main street named Abbondanza street - A roman fast food - The Stabian Baths - The Lupanar: the main brothel - The Forum: the main square - The plastercasts of the victims - One-hour stop for lunch at a restaurant - Trasportation to the Mount Vesuvius. - The tour of the Mount Vesuvius lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes. Once you reach an altitude of 1000 meters with the van, you will continue along the Gran Cono path to reach the top of the 1281 meter high volcano. The trail is approximately 4 kilometers.
