Hello everyone, I'm Paolo Mondola, a professional archaeologist and licensed tourist guide (License No. 1792, Campania Region). I was born and raised in the heart of the Bay of Naples, at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, an area renowned for its extraordinary archaeological heritage. Since childhood, I have been passionate about history and archaeology, especially because I grew up just a few minutes from the remarkable archaeological site of Herculaneum. As a child, I loved exploring the ancient cities of Pompeii and Herculaneum, where I was fascinated by the greatness of Greek and Roman civilization. That passion eventually became my profession, leading me to pursue a career as both an archaeologist and a licensed tourist guide. I graduated cum laude from the University of Naples "L'Orientale" with a Master's Degree in Classical Archaeology. During my academic training, I participated in several archaeological excavations in Pompeii and Cumae, gaining valuable field experience that allows me to bring the ancient world to life for my guests. Over the years, I have developed extensive knowledge not only of Pompeii and Herculaneum, but also of Naples, whose historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Phlegraean Fields, and the stunning Amalfi Coast, including Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello. This region is truly unique—a place where history, archaeology, breathtaking landscapes, and centuries-old traditions come together. It is also famous for its outstanding cuisine; after all, the world-famous Pizza Margherita was born here. I deeply love my homeland, rich in history, culture, and natural beauty, and I would be delighted to share it with you. My goal is to provide an authentic, engaging, and unforgettable experience, helping you discover the fascinating history and timeless charm of Southern Italy. Welcome to the real Italy. Credentials Archaeologist – Licensed Tourist Guide (License No. 1792) Master's Degree in Classical Archaeology (cum laude) from the University of Naples "L'Orientale", one of Italy's leading universities in the field of archaeology. Professional archaeologist with excavation experience in Pompeii and Cumae. Licensed Tourist Guide of the Campania Region. Specialist in Greek and Roman archaeology. More important than any qualification, however, is my passion for sharing the history and archaeology of this extraordinary region. Every tour is designed to be informative, engaging, and tailored to your interests, offering a unique opportunity to experience the ancient world through the eyes of an archaeologist.

MANN, Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli, offspring of the Real Museo Borbonico, is without doubt the world's greatest institute of classical archaeology, for both the quantity and variety of its collections. It's glorious three-century history has made it a point of reference for scholars, travellers and distinguished visitors. It's one of the most famous and visited museums in Italy, among the oldest and most important in the world for the richness and uniqueness of its heritage. The main works preserved come from the Farnese collection inherited by King Charles of Bourbon from his mother Elisabetta Farnese and from the excavations of Pompeii, Herculaneum and other archaeological sites in the Campania region. The Museum was inaugurated in 1816 by Ferdinand I of Bourbon, son of Charles, immediately becoming one of the main destinations of the so-called Grand Tour, a journey for one's classical cultural education made by European nobles who also visited Venice, Florence, Rome and then Naples.
- The meeting point is the entrance of the National Archaeological Museum of Naples. A tour into Roman art, often of Greek inspiration, which will amaze you for the very high level achieved. Classical art has no time, it is immortal. It will be a pleasure for me, as an archaeologist expert, to explain to you the most important works kept in this Museum. The tour lasts approximately two hours. There are different collections in the Museum and I will illustrate the most significant masterpieces underlining their period, production techniques, anecdotes and historical curiosities of the figure represented. The itinerary includes visits to the following collections: – Farnese Collection – Mosaics Collection – The Secret Cabinet – Villa of the Papyri Collection – The Sundial Hall – Daily life objects from the Vesuvian area Collection – Frescoes Collection – Scale model of Pompeii
