Hello! My name is Viviana, I was born and raised in the wonderful Sorrento also known to be called "the land of the sirens". My love for art, archeology and languages started since I was a young law student. After my law degree I decided to change my path and follow my passion. Being a tour guide was a strong and true calling, it turn to be my full time job. My passion for travels lead me out of my comfort zone and made me spend some time abroad. I've lived in the States, Portugal, Spain and Brazil. I've became very confident with the language I speak and the culture of the place I visited. My professional career into tourism started as a representative of tour agencies in the Region Campania. I've studied art, history of art and archeology in Florence and I qualified as a tour guide. Here the magic happened! Day after day I fell in love with the beauty of my wonderful country. I enjoy each corner of my Region and I can't stop appreciate the beauty and the energy of it. Strolling around the small and ancient streets of the archeological park of Pompeii and Herculaneum I'm fascinated all the time more by frescos, mosaics and impressed by the progress and high engineering of the ancient Roman civilization. My law degree allows me to share my knowledge with a very critical point of view with a little bit of humor. My favorite dimension to work with is small group and personal tours, tailored made. I'm very family friendly and I like kids curiosity and enthusiasm, I'm the Italian "Zia Viviana ". Overview of your Naples tour
The tour is organized around the Historic Center of Naples where we will walk through markets, their typical butchers, fruit and fish shops and mozzarella cheese shops. While you will be tasting some delicacies, some products with very high cultural value, I'll tell you about the history of what you'll be eating, and also the history of these ancient neighbourhoods. We'll have six or seven spots where you'll have a variety of traditional local foods. We'll visit the popular street of Spaccanapoli, that means "Split-city", where we will found bakeries and wine shops; there you'll eat the tipycal Tarallo as snack and perhaps drink a glass of some local wine. Follows Piazza del Gesù and Piazza San Domenico with its Churches and its famous confectioneries and bars to taste a delicious ice-cream and the pastries "Sfogliatella" and "Babà"; then we'll end up drinking the original Napolitan coffee "Espresso" that I recommend. The tour won't be completed until you enjoy a drink in a historic square of the city !
Your Naples tour itinerary
I will be happy to suggest the best foodie options for you! You'll stroll through the flavours and colours of the market district of Pignasecca. You will also enjoy the ancient city and smelling delicious foods you will admire some of the most important monuments, historical building and churches. You will visit an old bakery, a fruit shop with local fresh fruits and vegetables, you be able to taste Neapolitan "taralli" (salty rounded biscuits), or the local fried foods in typical Neapolitan "cuoppo" (paper cone). Don't miss, of course, the original "Pizza al portafoglio". Furthermore, you can buy mozzarella cheese or "provolone" and "salame" in the same place where the locals buy them. We will taste 1 piece per person: Pizza a portafoglio, Provolone cheese, Taralli, Caffè Espresso, Sfogliatella, Babà, Cuoppo If you have any dietary restrictions please let me know.
