Welcome! My name is Roberto. I am an Archaeologist and an official Tour Guide of Italy I obtained bachelor degree in Cultural Heritage, master degree in Classical Archaeology and the diploma of Post-Graduate School in Archeological Heritage. I have been an licensed guide of Campania Region (Italy) since 2011 and I have also worked as an archaeologist all around the Mediterranean sea: Populonia (Livorno, Italy), Paestum (Salerno, Italy), Olbia de Provance (Hyères, Var -France), Efestia (Lemnos, Greece), Phaistos, (Crete, Greece). Since I was a child I loved history of ancient Greeks and Romans and also the Art history from the Middle Ages to the Avanguardie of the '900. I live in Salerno, a characteristic sea town located between the paradise of Amalfi Coast and the charming Cilento. Thanks to my job and passion I working and travelling all over the World discovering different people, cultures and stories. I'm going to offer my knowledge in the art-historical and archaeological field for anyone who wants to understand and investigate the incredible richness of my country. Together we will discover the secrets of ancient Greeks and Romans that already in the past they knew the incomparable beauty of those places. With me you will know also other ancient civilizations and royal families, like Lombards, Normans, Anjous, Aragons and Bourbons, that ruled and enriched the Region with Monuments of incredible beauty and historic value. I'm a member of Slow Food (an international movement that strives to preserve traditional and regional cuisine and encourages farming of plants, seeds and livestock characteristic of the local ecosystem) and so I organize specific tours to those who want to discover the authentic pleasures of wine and traditional food. I also do online pre-trip consultations to help traveller to get their best from their vacations. Availability, preparation and organization are my greatest battle horses to transmit the love that I feel for my country and its history. Overview of your Naples tour

A complete tour focused on the ancient city of Pompeii and on the artefacts buried by the eruption of the volcano Vesuvius in the 79 A. D. We will start to see the most important buildings discovered in Pompeii. With the knowledge of an archaeologist you can understand the little details of the daily life and the amazing architectonic buildings that had made Romans one of the most important civilizations the world has ever seen. With me you will know the important facts of ancient Pompeii. The tour will continue in Naples where we will go to visit the National Archaeological Museum. In this museum there are exhibited the most important artefacts, frescoes and mosaics that the archaeologists have found in the different Vesuvian sites. Availability, preparation and organization are my greatest battle horses to transmit the love that I feel for my country and its history. By the way, as Licensed Guide in Pompeii I have the priority to buy the tickets so SKIP THE LINE service included.

Roberto was a very knowledgeable guide, efficient and entertaining with his guiding, while maintaining the interests of my teenage sons. He was very flexible with assisting to arrange a custom tour, meeting us at the train station in Naples, Firenze S.M. Novella, touring highlights of the National Archaeological Museum and then on to tour the Pompeii archaeological sites. We spent a full day with Roberto in Pompeii, in Naples at the Archeology Museum and then a walk for pizza. Roberto holds a wealth of knowledge about the history, people and events of Pompeii. He is a scholar who loves to share, but not overwhelm. He was funny, interesting and by the end of the day, we were all friends. We would definitely use Roberto again.

We had a great time learning about Pompeii from a real archaeologist. Roberto took us through the most important areas and then we travelled to Naples where we saw the artifacts from the site. Even had pizza for lunch. A unique way to learn about the site.

Roberto provided an excellent combination tour of the ruins of Pompeii and the Archeological Museum in Napoli. With a PhD, Roberto was highly knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and had a calm and pleasant demeanor, guiding us, providing loads of information that cultivated our interest and made the ruins come alive and answering questions. This long and private tour did cost money, but was well worth the expenses and resulted in a memorable experience for both adults and teenage children.

Roberto was a brilliant guide to our family group and made all the difference to our trip to Pompeii and the museum in Naples. We would never have seen as much as we did with him. We changed the order of our day because of the weather so he met us in Naples to go to the museum. He suggested a delicious pizzeria and then took us through Pompeii. He is very knowledgeable, being an archeologist. He got it just right - enough info but not too academic and patiently answered our questions.

This was a great tour for a group of 13, ages 9-71. We received exactly what we expected, with the addition of the best pizza of our whole tour. A definite highlight! Roberto's English was good and he knows his subject well. We would definitely recommend him.

Your Naples tour itinerary

This tour will take place in two sites, one is the archeological area of Pompeii and later on the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. About 2 hours in Pompeii, where we will see some of the Public Buildings (Theaters, Sacred areas, Forum and its surroundings) and private buildigs (houses and shops). Lunch stop (authentic neapolitan pizza?)
