Hello! I'm Rossella. I was born and grew up in Pompeii, at the slopes of the volcano Vesuvius. My roots sink in the Partenope mermaid's land, known in the world as Naples. I love my land, its history, its culture and traditions. I'm graduated in Foreign Languages at University of Naples. After University I studied and qualified to be a tour leader, so, I started to work bringing small groups of tourists around my beloved region. Then I qualified as a Tour Guide, studying History, Art and Archaeology. Over the years I have retraced the streets of ancient Pompeii and Herculaneum, countless times, so close my home, entering in a precious time machine where is possible to imagine the life of its inhabitants before the eruption of 79aD. Strolled in the typical Neapolitan alleys with the upturned nose, inebriated by the scents of food, enjoying the theatricality of the people, the grandeur of noble palaces and the churches'magnificent. Breathed the energy of the Volcano Vesuvius, reaching the crater, over there, where all is in peace. Dived into the amazing sea of the island of Capri, offshore Faraglioni rocks, close to the fancy Sorrento peninsula, wandering among the lemon groves and the breathtaking landscapes of the Amalfi coast and its pearls. Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. For nine years my passion has been my job, so, if you want to join me i'll be glad to share with you the artistic and scenic beauty of my land, discovering the most authentic corners of this magical region. I'm 36 years old, after several experiences I decided to live in my home country and to be a guide, cause I'm very proud of my roots. I think it's fantastic to share my passions, knowledgeable, comparing myself and show the beauty of my land to other people. I love my job and thanks to it I can meet different people from all over the world, with different languages, cultures and customs. So I know that every day is a single and unique day where I'll give and take the best from a single person that I'll meet. Visit ancient Pompeii with a Local Guide! Take a fascinating journey back in time into the habits and customs of a wealthy town dating back from the Roman Empire. Together will jump into the past reliving the daily life of the citizens of Pompeii before the eruption of 79 AD when Volcano Vesuvius awoke and in literally a matter of hours buried the ancient city and its citizens under several meters of volcanic ash, pumice, and small rock fragments. Together we'll go down the same streets that I've always been passionate about, we'll start from one of the ancient door of the town visiting magnificent private residences adorned with beautifully painted frescoes and original mosaics, shops, thermal baths, theatres, temples, inns, hotels as well as a brothel, and even the plaster casts of the victims bodies, a brutal reminder of the last moments of this great tragedy of the ancient world. We absolutely loved our tour with Rossella. Communication beforehand was great and meet up went smoothly. Rossella navigated us easily around Pompeii, managing to avoid too many of the crowds and giving us great insight into the history and answering all our questions. Rossella had recommended we get there for 9am opening, which was great advice. We highly recommend this tour and Rossella as a guide!
We had a superb experience in Pompeii with Rossella Simeone. She is a Pompeii native. Her English is outstanding. She is extremely knowledgeable about Pompeii and its history, she communicates well, and does it in a way that is fascinating. She was quick to identify our interests and adjusted the tour to match our interests and our pace. I was traveling with a person in a wheelchair. Pompeii is very accessible but we could not have found the accessible route without her help. She is outstanding!
