Discover and enjoy the authentic Puglia. Welcome in Puglia (or Apulia): the sunny and windy "heel of the Italian boot". We are Italy's easternmost region, right in the middle of the Mediterranean sea with culture and traditions that are the results of several different dominations, cultural and economic influences. First of all I'm a traveler (for leisure and work) and I like to discover foreign countries and their culture, traditions, food, people, etc. I have been working in tourism since 1998 as travel designer, event organizer, licensed tourist guide, nature (hike and bike) and interpretive guide, tour leader, food and wine lover (olive oil taster, wine sommelier). I'm passionate about my region and I like to share our amazing attractions and culture with other people. Puglia is an "easy region": the weather is quite warm all year long (the best time to come is from March to November but it's worth to come also in winter time), people is friendly (… but only a few people speaks English or another foreign language), there are always lots of events and things to do and our Mediterranean diet is healthy and tasty for everybody (amazing choice of tasty meat, fish, pasta, rice, legumes, vegetables and fruit recipes). Travelers who come for the first time in Puglia usually are fascinated by the Puglian daylight and the colours of the seaside and the countryside. I'll share with you the soul of Puglia, its culture, traditions, flavors, nature, scent, vibes . . . If you're looking for an hyper detailed and boring visit I'm not the tour guide for you but if you like a friendly and easy going person who will make his best, thanks to his experience and empathy, to understand and satisfy your needs, to suggest the right choices matching with your interests, to introduce in our culture and traditions, to help you in spending a very nice time … then contact me. I'm a licensed tour guide, nature (hike and bike) guide, environmental educator; wine sommelier, certified olive oil taster, tour leader. Education and training: University degree with experimental final essay (with photographic appendix) in Geography about Apulian rural buildings (masseria, villa, trullo); Master in Tourism Economics and Management; Professional training courses: tour guide, nature and interpretive guide, environmental educator, bike guide, bicycle mechanic, BLSD (Basic Life Support Defibrillation), inclusive and accessible tourism; Cooking, wine and extra virgin olive oil tasting classes; Workshop about recognition of Apulian wild orchids; Photography's workshop about show and Entertainment, nature. PLEASE WRITE ME BEFORE BOOKING (this way we will be sure the tour will match perfectly your needs in terms of price, service included, date, start time, duration, etc.). THIS WAY IS EASIER AND FASTER FOR YOU AND ME.

Overview of your Bari tour

An amazing tour to discover Alberobello and Locorotondo (its name comes from the circular layout of its city center), the most iconic Valle d'Itria's villages perched atop rolling hills overlooking vineyards and olive groves and dotted with: - Trulli: a unique kind of corbelled dry-stone (without any mortar) conical roof dwellings that have survived quite intact and functioning into the modern world; - Cummerse: another type of local buildings characterized by a stone triangular roof. The topic of my final dissertation at the university was related to drystone architecture: I'll love to share my knowledge about that and my long-standing experience as tour guide, nature guide and sommelier with you. I'm sure you will love the fairytale atmosphere of Alberobello and Locorotondo.

We have a very nice tour with Alessandro in Alberobello, Locorotondo and Martina Franca . The tour was arranged after we had correspondence about our interest and our walking capacity. Alessandro help us with recommendations for the hotels in Bari. He came on time and was very accommodating. We had a very nice lunch at his suggestion and a very nice day together seen interesting places.

A great tour given by a local guide who was very informative as well as very knowledgeable of both areas we visited. We will certainly come back to Puglia as there are many places still to visit. Will definitely chose the same guide Alessandro again.

Alessandro was a great tour guide. Incredibly knowledgeable and informative. My favorite part was the winery he took us to, which I would never have known about otherwise. Would highly recommend a tour with Alessandro.

We spend the day with Alessandro, meeting him in Monopoli and driving to Alberobello and Locorotondo. He was a font of knowledge and we learned a ton about history of Alberobello and Locorotondo. Alessandro was very attentive and informative and spent all the time we wanted in each location and provided insight we would never have gleaned from other sources. As side benefit is we learned so much about olives, olive trees and olive oil we talked about them our entire time in Italy! I would highly recommend Alessandro for any tour in Puglia. He also gave us some great restaurant suggestions and places to go the next day

Touring with Alessandro was a delight! He was knowledgeable about the history and architecture of the region. He also adjusted the itinerary to accommodate our requests and get us to less crowded spots with great views. Not to mention a magical touch finding parking for us. Highly recommended.

In conclusion. Alessandro is the perfect host for overseas visitors.

Your Bari tour itinerary

- In Alberobello we will enjoy the two old districts (Aia Piccola and Monti) declared, in 1996, world heritage site by Unesco. - We will visit the interior of some of the 1500 trulli located in the village to learn about their history, legends, architecture, the mystery and symbolism of their pinnacles (finials). - In ten minutes driving, we will arrive in Locotorondo: a charming village listed as one of the most beautiful Italian hamlet and awarded, by the Italian Touring Club, with the Orange Flag (a recognition for the quality of tourism and the environment in small inland towns). - At the end of the tour, if you like, we can enjoy an informal wine tasting up on the terraces of a panoramic vineyard located on the slopes of Locorotondo with stunning view on the valley. We can personalize the tour as you like with some other sightseeing, culinary experiences (wine and food tastings, cooking class in a trullo, hiking, etc. )
