Discover and enjoy the authentic Puglia. Welcome in Puglia (or Apulia): the sunny and windy "heel of the Italian boot". We are Italy's easternmost region, right in the middle of the Mediterranean sea with culture and traditions that are the results of several different dominations, cultural and economic influences. First of all I'm a traveler (for leisure and work) and I like to discover foreign countries and their culture, traditions, food, people, etc. I have been working in tourism since 1998 as travel designer, event organizer, licensed tourist guide, nature (hike and bike) and interpretive guide, tour leader, food and wine lover (olive oil taster, wine sommelier). I'm passionate about my region and I like to share our amazing attractions and culture with other people. Puglia is an "easy region": the weather is quite warm all year long (the best time to come is from March to November but it's worth to come also in winter time), people is friendly (… but only a few people speaks English or another foreign language), there are always lots of events and things to do and our Mediterranean diet is healthy and tasty for everybody (amazing choice of tasty meat, fish, pasta, rice, legumes, vegetables and fruit recipes). Travelers who come for the first time in Puglia usually are fascinated by the Puglian daylight and the colours of the seaside and the countryside. I'll share with you the soul of Puglia, its culture, traditions, flavors, nature, scent, vibes . . . If you're looking for an hyper detailed and boring visit I'm not the tour guide for you but if you like a friendly and easy going person who will make his best, thanks to his experience and empathy, to understand and satisfy your needs, to suggest the right choices matching with your interests, to introduce in our culture and traditions, to help you in spending a very nice time … then contact me. I'm a licensed tour guide, nature (hike and bike) guide, environmental educator; wine sommelier, certified olive oil taster, tour leader. Education and training: University degree with experimental final essay (with photographic appendix) in Geography about Apulian rural buildings (masseria, villa, trullo); Master in Tourism Economics and Management; Professional training courses: tour guide, nature and interpretive guide, environmental educator, bike guide, bicycle mechanic, BLSD (Basic Life Support Defibrillation), inclusive and accessible tourism; Cooking, wine and extra virgin olive oil tasting classes; Workshop about recognition of Apulian wild orchids; Photography's workshop about show and Entertainment, nature. PLEASE WRITE ME BEFORE BOOKING (this way we will be sure the tour will match perfectly your needs in terms of price, service included, date, start time, duration, etc.). THIS WAY IS EASIER AND FASTER FOR YOU AND ME.

The area of Imperial Puglia can boast some of the finest examples of the Apulian Romanesque architecture (such as the stunning cathedral of Trani), picturesque fishing ports, an important Jewish medieval giudecca (now there are only 2 of the 4 old Synagogues left: the Sinagoga Grande guests a museum and the Sinagoga Scola Nova, since 2005, has been returned to its worship use after centuries of abandon or catholic use), Knights Templar heritage, excellent food and wine. The Unesco site of Castel del Monte is the most famous castle built by the eclectic Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II of Swabia (called "stupor mundi"). It stands lonely up on a hill in the countryside of Andria and it has been built following an unusual octagonal layout that, along with other features of the castle, have fueled countless theories about its real function. I'll share my long experience (as tour guide, nature guide, wine and extravirgin olive oil sommelier) with you to tailor the itinerary depending on your interests.
- We can start with a quick visit to Molfetta to enjoy its historic city center, the picturesque port and the authentic atmosphere of the fish market. - In Trani we will visit the cathedral, the old town with the port and the Jewish area (it's also possible to visit the interior of the Synagogues but we need to book in advance). - At lunch I suggest a fish meal (a gourmet sandwich or a served lunch) in the picturesque area of the port. - In the afternoon the Unesco site of Castel del Monte (a castle symbol of Puglia with its unique octagonal layout and its mysteries). It's possible to modify the tour with the visit of the archeological site of the epic victory of Hannibal over the Romans, a culinary experience such as the visit to the Museo del Confetto (the sweetest musuem in Italy), a winery (to taste excellent wines made with indigenous grapes: Nero di Troia, Bombino bianco/nero), an extra virgin olive oil mill, dairy (the burrata cheese has been invented here).
Tell your guide which places matter to you, skip what doesn't, and tailor the experience for your group's needs. Not finding what you want? Message your guide to build something unique.
We wil use your own vehicle. If you like I can arrange transportation for you at an extra cost.
