Brindvan is a holy town in Northern India. The Hindu deity krishna said to have spent his childhood days with his lover Radha here. It was a lovely place with beautiful mountains, gardens, lakes, and rivers. So it is named after those Brindavan gardens. The task of building a dam across the river Cauvery was in the hands of a genius: Sir M Vishweshvariya, a great and most efficient engineer of all in the 1920's court. The gardens were laid out by the other deewan [adviser and able person] Sir Mirza Ismail At the arch of the south gate of the dam, inscribed on stone is the bust of Tippu the fierce. Guess why? Because it was his dream to built a dam across the river Cauvery so that we could have a rich River Delta! The plans and the blueprints done by Tippu were extracted from the Mysore Gazette in the archives and lo! Tippu's dream came true I have been working as a Tour Guide for the last twenty years and for me it is not only a profession but also my passion so come and let me show you the best of Mysore
