If you do only one thing in Berlin, let it be this tour with Janna. I can tell you from personal experience because it was the only thing I did besides clubbing on a long weekend in Berlin. Janna changed the tour to accommodate walking/public transport for me, instead of private car. She asked me the day before if I wanted to see the site of the Wansee conference, so I said sure not knowing anything about it. I will never forget it as long as I live, nor will I forget the Otto Weidt Museum or any of the other sites in between on this personalized tour. Even though Tours by Locals was referred to me by a friend who showed me her photos from her tour in Berlin, you still need to see it yourself. We did stop for a much needed lunch. Even on one hour of sleep, I highly recommend Janna’s tour!

Before Hitler, a third of German Jews lived in Berlin, and their traces are all over the town. With a van, we can cover sites off the main city area. The Wannsee Conference Villa, and Memorial Track 17, are powerful reminders of the beginning and organization of the Holocaust. I will tell you stories of hide-outs, betrayal, and survival in Otto Weidt's Workshop for the Blind Museum, one of my favorite places in Berlin, as it breaks down the immensity of the crime to individual stories. I'm an expert of National Socialist and Jewish History of Berlin, striving to convey this darkest chapter of German history in a sensitive, informative way. The importance of Berlin Jews for the city's history, e. g. the art sponsor James Simon, or painter Max Liebermann, is eminent.
