Welcome to Berlin! I'm Marriette and I'd love to show you what Berlin has to offer! Ask any non-German how they ended up in Berlin and you’ll often hear the same story: “I came on holiday and never left.” And that’s exactly how it happened for me. I arrived fresh from Manchester University with a BA in Sociology, ready to escape the drizzle of the motherland and dive into something new. What started as a brief fling with Berlin turned into a full-blown love affair, and 19 years later, I’m still here. I’ve mastered the language, gained German citizenship, and built a life I never saw coming. I’ve been a full-time tour guide since 2006, and I still wake up excited to head to work, surely a sign I’m in the right job. Berlin is unlike any other city: layered with history, bursting with contradictions, raw and resilient, constantly reinventing itself. It’s not always pretty, but it’s always real. And it never, ever gets boring. Over the years, I’ve guided every type of tour you can imagine: private one-on-ones, lively school and university groups, romantic strolls with couples, full-blown 40-person bus tours, you name it. On foot, by bike, segway, chauffeur-driven car or coach, I adapt to whatever suits your style. Whether you want to tick off the must-see sights or uncover Berlin’s hidden nooks and off-the-radar gems, I’ll tailor the experience to your interests. Berlin is a living, breathing creature with a personality all its own. It’s reeled me in for good, and I’d love to show you exactly why. Looking forward to meeting you! - Native English Speaker - 19 years of experience as a professional Berlin Tourguide - BA Degree in Sociology from Manchester University I am not a driver, but I can arrange for a vehicle and driver at an additional cost upon request.

We’ll cover the essential sites of the historical city centre, from imperial splendour to Cold War tension, all at a pace that’s brisk but never rushed. We’ll visit key landmarks tied to the Third Reich, the Berlin Wall, and the city’s ongoing transformation into the creative, edgy capital it is today. Whether you're into history, architecture, or just want to feel Berlin in a short window, this tour is tailored to your interests. I’ll make sure you leave with great photos, a deeper understanding, and a few insider tips for the rest of your visit. Let me show you the highlights, fast, fascinating, and full of heart.
