This was a great tour of Rouen and Honfleur! Ezzi is a wealth of information and history. He showed us old Norman thatched roof homes. This was a delightful and unexpected bonus. We highly recommend this tour and Ezzi as your guide.

I'm a licenced national guide for more than 25 years. I live in Normandy for more than 20 years and so the most interesting sites have no secrets for me. I've worked many years with US, Canadian and British visitors and can adapt to their needs. I'm a specialist of the landing Beaches including: The US sectors (Omaha, Utah), the British sectors ( Sword, Juno) &the Canadian sector ( Juno). The museums and sites concerning the battle of Normandy and WW2 are well-known by me. - the historical and picturesque sites of Honfleur, Deauville, Etretat, Rouen, Giverny, Caen, Bayeux, Mont Saint Michel, the typical area Le Pays d'Auge. . . I am a part-time associate professor in history and cultural heritage in the University of Caen; I used to work as a consultant with Unesco in the field of world heritage; I travelled to many countries in the world as a tour leader or for personal purpose; I am active in cultural associations and sports activities. I am married and have two sons. I am a licensed national guide for more than 25 years. I work also as a part-time associate professor at the University of Caen in the Department of History. I used to be a consultant with the Unesco in restoration and preservation of the sites of the world heritage. My involvement in cultural tourism and my experience as a tour leader for many years motivates my interest to be a tourist guide. I like to exchange with guests and make them discover wonderful sites. As a certified French national tour guide, I'm allowed to guide everywhere and to pick you up directly at your hotels, train stations and ship docks. There are no restrictions for me in France.

Honfleur: the harbor had been founded by the Vikings and is reputed thanks to the church Sainte Catherine build in wood on the 15th century. The town had been frequented by many painters impressionists friends of the artist Boudin who was born in Honfleur. Admire the romantic harbor and the narrow roads with their half timbered houses. Visit the church with its separated steeple before to enjoy some shopping. Rouen: crossed by the Seine river, the city is the capital of Normandy. Visit the monumental cathedral of Notre Dame (13th century) which symbolises the Gothic style and which front had been painted several times by the painter impressionist Monet. Discover the typical quarter of Saint Romain with its half-timbered houses which had been preserved from the Bombing raids of the 19th of April 1944. Admire the Court house (16th) and the Big clock in the pedestrian areas where the roads are often crowded. Your tour ends in the square where Joan of Arc had been burned on 1431. Enjoy lunch nearby.

We had used Ezzedine earlier this year for a tour through Normandy. This time we (just one couple) from a cruise ship) really wanted to spend time in Honfleur. How much time depended on the weather. Ezzedine first took us on a tour of Le Havre because Honfleur does not really wake up until 10 am. He had a plan for after Honfleur, yet was totally flexible when we just chose to spend more time strolling around Honfleur (because it was a beautiful day) and then return to our cruise ship a bit early.
We had a very nice day with Ezzedine. He picked us up promptly and suggested a little different itinerary than we had originally planned and it worked perfectly. Honfleur was very charming and we enjoyed the tour and free time there. We continued on to some of the British WW2 sites and Pegasus Bridge, where we also had lunch. We ended the day in Caen, which we hadn't planned, but glad we were able to see it. Ezzedine is very knowledgeable and personable. We highly recommend his services!
My wife and I use ToursByLocals for two international vacations per year. We often use multiple tour guides in our travels. ToursByLocals always have great local flavored tourist service. Ezzedine provided guide services for four of our five guided all day tours in France and Normandy. Ezzy was not only a good tour guide but became a great friend.
