Hello! My name is Maureen, and I’m from the region of Normandy, where I was born and raised. I’ve been passionate about history for as long as I can remember, so I pursued a degree in guiding, which allowed me to combine my love of languages, history, and storytelling. I began my career by doing tours at a Calvados distillery, an experience that gave me a deep appreciation for our regional heritage. Outside of guiding, I love reading and discovering new things; I’m naturally curious and always eager to connect with new people. I have been a professional guide in my region for two years now. My travels and experiences have shown me the value a guide can add to enriching visitors' experiences and connecting them to local culture. I’ve always wanted to help people explore Normandy in a genuine and unique way, sharing stories that bring each tour to life. Normandy has an exceptional heritage, and I love taking visitors through its rich and complex history. From William the Conqueror to the D-Day landing beaches, every era has left its mark here—not to mention our renowned gastronomy! Whether it’s through medieval architecture, castles, or culinary specialities, I wish to give travellers a truly immersive experience of our region. My goal is to make your journey through Normandy suited to you. I look forward to meeting you and showing you all that my region has to offer!

On this tour, I'll take you to the main sites where American soldiers landed on D-Day. We'll explore the beaches and other key locations (you’ll be able to walk on the sand if the tide allows!), and I'll share the powerful stories of what unfolded in the early hours of June 6th. We’ll also visit the remaining bunkers and gun positions, and I’ll highlight specific actions that took place there. In addition to this, we'll have the chance to honour the men and women who gave their lives for our freedom by visiting the American Cemetery. This is a peaceful yet very moving place overlooking Omaha Beach — the site of the heaviest Allied losses on D-Day. My focus is on showing you the actual battle sites and cemetery rather than spending a lot of time in museums. But if you'd like to see a museum, we can absolutely work that in — it'll just mean a little less time at the other locations, but let me know, and the tour can be customized to your preferences.
With a departure from Le Havre - Cruise Terminal, we'll be able to see : · Our first stop will be in Utah Beach (2 hours of driving), where American forces launched a major assault · Drive to Sainte Mère Eglise, where we'd visit a stained glass church where a famous American paratrooper was caught on the steeple · A proposed lunch would follow before continuing to Omaha Beach, where you'll be able to walk on the beach itself · Then, we'll reach the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer, which holds 9,000 graves · Drive back to your drop off location at the Cruise Terminal in Le Havre
