Tour Guide for now nine wonderful years, I am a very positive and ongoing person. It is really hard to get away the smile from my face ;o) When I decided to get my guiding license, more than 9 years ago now, I thought first, that it could be a summer job while on holiday from teaching, but I quickly realized what a great job guiding can be. I use to say, that now, my students are older than before, and are now really very interested in what they want me to speak about. Even better. I started doing tours for friends from California, years ago, then friends of their friends, and I now take people on my tours who become friends ;o) I live in in Normandy, where I was born, but I also lived in Paris, in the US , and in some other countries. That gives me the ability to understand other cultures and to adapt myself. Yet, Paradise is for me "here" in the green pastures of Normandy. Both my grandparents lived through the German occupation, and both were in the French Resistance. I have a very strong connection to my region. That really started my passion for digging in the past. After an education in Normandy, I went studying History and Journalism in Paris at the Sorbonne. As a real History buff, I have created some unique itineraries no one else did before me, like the real Viking tour on the footsteps of the Vikings of Normandy. I try as much as possible to do things the best I can. I am a perfectionist, and I assume. I am married and have two lovely daughters. Besides my family and my job, I love horses. On this full day tour from Le Havre, you'll walk on the footsteps of the more than 14000 young canadians who liberated France and Europe. With me, you'll gain the unique perspective of the grandson of Resistance fighters, who told me "almost " everything they went through during these awful 4 years. Things I didn't find in history books, even the best ones. On the various spots of Juno beach you'll immerse yourself in the terrible first days of combat, and understand how Canadians were able to get the beach so quickly. At the Canadian Cemetery of Bény sur Mer, I will share with you the stories of many of the 2000 young boys fallen here for Liberty. At the Juno Center, you'll discover the scale of the Canadian involvement not only in Normandy but in all the fields of combat of WWII. And in Honfleur, if your timing allows, I will show you this lovely little port, I've known before I could walk. At the end of the day I hope to hear you saying : " too bad we did not book more than one day to visit Normandy "
Overall, the tour provided by our guide (Igor) was very good! Igor was very knowledgble, answered our questions without hesitation and provided a very concise and detailed tour. The only small criticism of the tour was that of the van provided for the tour. Our group was a party of 6 friends and we all found the van too small for a party of this size. The van would be fine for a group of 5 but a larger van is required for a group of 6 of average size people.
Excellent tour and experience with Igor -very responsive; on time pick up at ship; played videos during the drive from Cherbourg to Juno Beach area pausing the videos at critical points to explain the history of the landings; very knowledgeable; shared some of the personal challenges his family experienced during the war; delicious crepe lunch at a local restaurant. The highlight was seeing my Uncle's grave at Beny-sur-Mer. Thank you Igor for a very special day! God's Blessings!
We really enjoyed our tour of the Canadian D-Day Beaches tour by Igor. Igor was very well prepared with pictures and the history of the area. I had a list of our local soldiers who died in WW2 and Igor did an extensive search to see if any were buried in the Canadian cemetery we visited. I would highly recommend this tour!

Igor is incredibly knowledgeable on the topic of D-Day and the Battle of Normandy. He was a pleasure to be with and we enjoyed our time with him very much. I would highly recommend him!
