Zadar was once the capital of the region Dalmatia, Nin was once a capital of Croatian Kingdom, and Vir is a small island who suffered or profited of their vicinity - depending on the period in the history. Only a short ride between each other, they will offer a view into the diversity of local communities and along the way offer some beautiful views of the scenery. It is the area that inspired first Croatian novel written in 1536 building on local stories of the fairies as well as stunning nature. The local museums are full of objects spanning across more than 3000 years of history. There is much to discover so I will carefully pick the best highlights for us to visit including ruins of Roman Forum in Zadar, church serving as a solar calendar in Nin, and much more. It is a crash-course to local history that most locals would need as well. Since I love interpreting my local heritage, I will do my best to make it enjoyable experience and subject matter understandable for all who join my tour!
-We meet at Sea Organ and explore Zadar walking towards the early medieval church of St Donatus and Roman ruins. We spend here some 2 h during wich we also visit the Venetian walls from the 16th century and other monuments before we set out towards city of Nin - After some 30 minutes of driving, we arrive to Nin where we will visit Museum of Nin Antiquities as well as the church of the Holly Cross. In Nin we will spend about 1. 5 h. - Continuing to Island of Vir, some 20 minutes drive, I will explain the reasons why this area had such turbulent past. Vir is perfect example how locals resisted their obstacles and enemies in the past, turning challenges into success stories. We will see the ruins of Kastelir, protective structure from Venetian period. - Along the way, there are possibilities of smaller detours to some other beautiful sights or facilities where you can try some of local products. This tour can be completely tailored to personal preferences and interests.

- Car transfer to Nin will be with clean, comfortable and air-conditioned vehicle Ford C-max from 2006. (For better comfort the max. number of travelers for the tour is set at 3, but if you are 4 and confident you would be comfortable traveling with same vehicle it is also possible) - The bigger part of the tour is walking with a low number of stairs. - The other types of vehicle (bigger/for more passengers or newer/more luxorious) can be organized upon request so please send me the message for details.
