Do you know what Alfred Hitchcock, Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio have in common? Zadar obviously. But how? That is for me to know and for you to find out during this walking tour. In this tour I combine city's history and monuments with references from classic literature and music to pop-music and both Hollywood and local films, actors and other performing arts trivia. Surely music is important part of every culture and everyday life so why not learn a bit about it while traveling and sightseeing. Even if you have already heard (of) our Sea Organ you might not really now the best known song and full story of our Riva (Sea Front). Enjoying the walk through the old stone streets of Zadar learn how did this small city influence world of performing arts, You will probably also get useful information and tips where to go out - whether you prefer classic, modern or local music. Experience the new life of old city walls now posing as open air lounge and stage So without further ado - let me entertain you!
Ideally we start our tour in the evening with the lightshow on the most recent monument - Greeting to the Sun, a circle made of solar panels that light up with the solar energy after the sunset. It is both hard and a shame to miss it, just like this tour ;) - With the sound of music coming literally from within Sea Front we step into the history of Zadar passing by Franciscan Monastery towards the main street Kalelarga. - It is sometimes vibrant and pulsing, sometimes quiet and romantic. Along it we will pass by the Cathedral, by both ancient center of the city - Roman Forum and more recent People's Square - both often serving as a stage for events and concerts. - The tour would not be complete without a detour to the smaller, narrow streets made even narrower by tables and chairs of bars where both locals and tourists enjoy drinks and music. We will end the tour on city walls that often serve as film sets or venue locations. We can do it in daytime, or also chase other film-adventures in surrondings!
