Zadar is a coastal city but it is firmly conected with its hinterland. It is the richness of its area that made the city develope in what it is. It was maybe even more important for what Zadar was troughout the history. This tour will take you along the mythical mountains, over the fertile flat-land of Ravni Kotari, along the Roman and medival roads to the fary-like magic of Krka River. It is no joke that a 16th century poet dubbed river Krka being a daughter of Dinara (by some theories - a mountain possibly named after on other than Roman godess Diana). Walking around smaller and bigger cascades that make Skradinski buk and restored watermills, it really does feel like walking throgh the enchanted area. The ruins of old castles, still standing guard along the river, ruins of Roman military camp near the river and a Franciscan monastary ontop of small island in the river only add to mythical feel of this national park. It is easy to get lost in nature and in time, luckily you have a private local guide!
I am local guide based in Zadar so ideally we will start from Zadar towards the Krka NP and its main entrance at Lozovac. Getting the tickets at the entrance might take up to 20-30 minutes, depending how busy par is. It is narrow swithchback road that takes us from hte entrance gate down into the canyon to the level of the river and to the waterfalls. There is also footpath that cuts through withchback road and offers more chance to enjoy scenery. Once at the level of the waterfalls, beautiful nature and various presentations in the old watermills will keep us enchanted for about an hour-hour an a half. I hope you have more than just 4-5 hours to do this tour. Only 30 minutes ride can get us to the viewpoint over the lake and island Visovac. From this point it is only 15 minutes drive to Roski slap. If you are advenurer, it can be 2h walk. Roski slap might be nice but gentle Ogrlice (Necklaces) are quite charming series of cascades. Return to Zadar can include stops to Ortodox Monastary, Burnum or Skradin. .

Depending on number of guests as well as your personal preferences, suitable vehicle (sedan, VAN or minibus - the price might vary on vehicle type) will be hired with local transportation provider. The tour also works better when having a professional driver who stays with the vehicle as while touring the park on foot we might end up at the diifferent point of the park.
