Hi, my name is Dino, I graduated in History and Italian language & literature and I have been working in tourism for 17 years. After 7 years of experience in education, I have decided to fully dedicate myself to tourism which resulted with official 2017 THE BEST TOURIST GUIDE AWARD by Croatian Ministry of Tourism. I am fluent in 3 languages: English, Italian and Spanish. Although a freelancer, very often I represent the National Tourist Board, therefore most of my clients are journalists, bloggers, TVs etc. I have cooperated with famous TVs such as BBC, CNN, Discovery Channel, RAI, SKY, Canal + etc. where I am quite often a host or the person interviewed by the host. Throughout my extensive experience, I had the opportunity to guide celebrities, politicians, senior officials, businessmen, but also many others who are none of the above. Regardless of profession or social status, all my clients have equal treatment: a lot of laughter and fun, interactive participation in the past & present and what is the most important on a journey - to make them forget their daily routine. Personally, I love to travel. Yearly I spend at least 2 months outside Croatia exploring the world, different cultures, national cuisine and all those wonderful diversities that define the purpose of travel. So far I have visited more than 50 countries and there's no place on the planet that's not on my bucket list. Each journey enriches me and creates a feeling of happiness and fulfillment as well as the irresistible desire to share these feelings with others. Therefore, travelers are my favorite people because we share common interest - the reason why I quit the profession of teacher and dedicated myself to tourism. I think all people are condemned to work, but it won't do any harm if you are happy and satisfied with what you do. It makes everything easier. I am also a passionate gourmand and hedonist. The little free time that I have is often spent in the kitchen trying out new recipes or improving the old. Being a chef, unless by profession, is to be a creative artist whose art vanishes in a second, but it gives endless pleasure to all participants. Besides being a historian and a passionate traveler, I am also a descendant of a native family from Split that has participated over centuries in the creation of the history of this city. Love for my hometown and region is in my blood and through various stages of life The Diocletian's Palace was my playground, home and the object of scientific research. Since we are all different, I adapt my approach to each client. The beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder. So the history itself is interesting as much as the narrator. It's not a boring school subject. It's an endless source of good humor and the teacher of all knowledge. Those who didn't study history are doomed to repeat others' mistake. Yet the ones who studied history, helplessly sit aside and observe everyone else repeats it. So, avoid your mistakes by not repeating others' It will be a pleasure to be your guide and welcome you to my wonderful hometown and region. Why choose me? There are no better or worse. We are all different, but I am different in a particular way. To discover what particular means you'll have to book a tour with me. * University degree in History and Italian issued by University of Zadar, Croatia * Licensed tourist guide for Split-Dalmatia County since 2008 * Licensed tourist guide for Sibenik-Knin County since 2012 * Spanish C2 - degree issued by Ecela, Buenos Aires *Driving license (B) I am a licensed guide, and have no restrictions.

For those who want to know more. To complete the entire history of the County all 3 most important highlights are included: Split, Trogir and Salona. Salona is a place where it all started. Even before the Greek founders placed the first cornerstone in Split and Trogir, another tribe was settling this area and living in the famous capital of the region called Salona. If you're keen on archeology Salona's ruins will give you an idea how the life looked like at the very beginning. What was their religion?!? Who did they worship? How did they live? How were they entertained? What about nudity? Hot baths? …. Our stroll through the ruins of the forgotten metropolis will revive many stories of our predecessors. This is your perfect chance to ask as many questions as possible to satisfy your curiosity. And I am here to answer them.
This is a suggested itinerary. - We start our visit with Split. First you'll visit the subterranean part of the palace, as there is no sunlight in there, depending on the season, you may need some extra clothes. After we are done with the first part we'll walk out and stroll trough the medieval city inside the ancient palace. On our way we can stop to visit the cathedral and Jupiter's temple. As decent dress code is required please make sure to have some extra scarf to cover your shoulders, and please pay attention that you are not dressed to provocative while entering in the religious buildings. - We continue with a drive towards Trogir where you will have the chance to explore in details Medieval styles: Cathedral, Court house, City Hall etc. - Return from Trogir to Split. - After visiting Trogir we drive to Salona, the most important archeological site of Croatia. If you dont support the heat, please bring with you sun protection ( umbrellas, hats, sun blocks. . . ) the tour can be customized
