Hello, my name is Vjeran ("faithful" in Croatian) and it would be my pleasure to be your host in this part of Croatia where I live and which I'm in love with. I am a private guide that offers private tours in Split and the surrounding area. I have worked as a licensed tourist guide for the Split region for fourteen years, but I've been involved in tourism since I was 14 (I am 44 now). After graduating from high school, with an emphasis on tourism, I obtained my undergraduate degree in tourism. I've been working at the Split tourist office ever since. My goal is not to give you just a tour. I would like to give you a memory. This region is, I daresay, one of the best there is when it comes to opportunities to see so many breathtaking places not far from each other. For example - the amazing palace built by the Roman emperor Diocletian, which has grown into the city of Split. Then, one of the most beautiful small towns in the world - Trogir. It is almost impossible to find a place of that size with so many monuments. Just minutes away from Split you will find the key to our history and Christianity - the ruins of what was once the glorious Roman capital of the province, Salona. From there you literally see another wonder - the fortress of Klis - where so much blood was shed in order to stop a fierce enemy, the Turkish army, trying to put to an and Europe as it was then. Heroes were made then, and heroes are being made now, with the fourth and the fifth season of the globally popular TV-series "Game of Thrones" which has been filmed in this area. There is so much more: natural wonders like Plitvice Lakes, The Krka Waterfalls and others. Islands like Hvar and Brač will capture your heart. You have just one day… No problem! Only half a day… Still no problem! Not more than a couple of hours… My answer remains the same - No problem! Tailor-made tours are what I'm all about. And my tours are designed to meet your needs and wishes. You tell me what you would like, and I'll do my best to make it happen. Since Split and nearby locations became a set for two seasons (4 and 5) of the HBO TV-series "Game of Thrones", all those who share a passion for the show have an amazing opportunity to see where Daenerys Targaryen walked, where Meereen is (a bit of Braavos too) and where it all took place. Our first stop is Klis Fortress, with scenes from both seasons 4 and 5. You will see where several huge moments in Meereen took place (siege of Meereen, the crucifixion of Masters, etc. ). Before we get back to Split we will stop in "Braavos" (Kaštel Gomilica) and you'll get a chance to walk in the shoes of Arya Stark (she was selling oysters, clams and cockles here). Our last, but definitely one of the most important GOT places, is Split. I'll show you where Daenerys chained her dragons and where the "kill the masters" scene happened. You'll see where The Unsullied fought The Sons of the Harpy, where scenes with Daario Naharis, Grey Warm, Ser Barristan, etc. were filmed. I'll also tell you how I met „The Mountain".
VJ is an awesome guide! He is very knowledgeable about every place he took us and was very accommodating to where we wanted to go. He has a great attitude and is very informative about the Croatian culture and GOT. We highly recommend him and would use him again in a heartbeat!
VJ was wonderful! Incredibly knowledgeable, not only about GoT, but also about the history of the country and all of our locations. Conversation was very comfortable throughout the day and the time flew by. Even stopped for a drink and later gave us restaurant recommendations! Would highly recommend.
Vjeran is the very best guide I ever had as he was well prepared in his verbal and visual presentations of the many subjects at hand. In particular he must have watched the GOT a million times as he knew everything about that series and more behind the scenes than I expected. In addition he is a very nice person who in only a few hours allowed us to share his native town if Split and made our brief stay very memorable.
Vjeran (VJ) was awesome! He was a fountain of information the whole time and taught us so much on our tour. He was very accommodating and made sure we were happy and enjoying ourselves which we were! He had the perfect balance of GoT and history information at each location. I would highly recommend taking a tour with VJ to anyone looking for a great history/GoT tour.
Vjeran was a FABULOUS tour guide. He met at my hotel in Old Town & began by driving us to Kils Fortress. He gave me wonderful history info & descriptions along the way. At Kils he showed various scenes & explained so much about the filming. After the hiking at Klis, we stopped down below at a small cafe for refreshments & had great conversation about travel/tourism returning to Croatia. Then back to Split for more GOT sights. I highly recommend VJ. He is such a professional! Hire him!
Vjeran was a great guide! This was on favorite tour and we loved the work he put into the details. Beautiful sites, detailed show comparisons, and sites we would've never found on our own. 100% recommend!
