Hello everyone! Dobrodošli/Welcome! My name is Kristina, but you can call me Kris ;) . . . I hope to be your guide during your visit to my beautiful country. I am a tour guide with many years of experience in the travel industry and with even more years of experience in simply showing my family, friends, friends of friends and former business partners beauties and hidden secrets of Dalmatia - a coastal region of Croatia with beautiful sea, beaches, food, wine, historical places and countryside. . . a place I call - HOME . . . I was doing it for fun at first and/or as a favor until one day I realized. . . I should make this my permanent job. . . and so I did! I try to put my love for reading and history into good use and bring you a bit closer our tumultuous history and all the characters that played big part in it. With history, I believe it's important to explore even some less known facts and sights, while still enjoying little local curiosities and stories. As I've lived some time abroad, and am also a passionate traveller, I try to give my guests the same experience I often strive to and therefore I hope not only to guide you around my country but help you make valuable memories to last a lifetime. . . or at least until you visit again! ;) Besides history, my second love is food :)) …I'm actually a huge foodie and love to both cook and eat. . . therefore if you need recommendations for local restaurants, feel free to let me know and I'll show you my favorite spots. If you want to add a little bit of a local flavour to your exploring of the Diocletian's Palace, then this tour is just perfect for you. This is my personal favorite tour as I get to show you how part of my normal day looks like. . . coffee is a must for me, and bad coffee is not an option on this tour or in my life :) Besides learning about the development and history of my amazing hometown Split, while walking through hidden streets of the Palace and scouting Roman traces, I will provide you a perfect window to look into the lives of a typical Dalmatian person living inside this beautiful palace/city with a continuity of life for more than 1700 Years! I will show you local favourite spots and hideaways, try some fresh local product, put your sunglasses on and soak in the sun while sipping your coffee and engaging into a chitchat over some daily news or gossip!
If I could, I would give Kristina 10 stars! She made us instantly feel at ease and like we were exploring the city with a good friend. She was so knowledgeable about her city and the way she talked about it made us fall in love with Croatia. Book a tour with Kristina and you will not be disappointed!
Kristina was an excellent tour guide. Her 1/2 day walking tour in the Diocletian’s Palace and Green Market was incredibly interesting. She customized our tour with an oil and wine tasting, chocolate tasting and shareable lunch at one of the top rated restaurants in the city. She was very knowledgeable of the history, art and architecture of the city. Kristina was very personable and easy and fun to talk to. We really enjoyed learning about the Croatian lifestyle and culture from her. The four of us highly recommend Kristina’s walking tour.
Kristina was amazing! She skillfully combined history, architecture and the beauty of Split and Croatia into a delightful morning, all the while taking into consideration the mobility needs of these 4 travelers in their 70's! She helped us experience Diocletians Palace, and the flavors of the market with the ease of a longtime friend. Her English was impeccable and even our hearing impaired member was able to easily hear and understand her. We have done many TBL tours and Kristina was the absolute best.
Had an amazing time with Kristina! She picked me up from the airport, brought me to my hotel to check in, and then gave me a lovely tour of the city of Split, concluding with a dinner in the city. She personally could not bring me to the airport upon my departure but she set me up with a driver on a last second notice. Highly recommend a tour with her!
I would highly recommend Kristina!! She is very knowledgeable and her stories about the palace and living in Split brought the area to life for us. She was very flexible to make certain she focused on what we wanted to see. We visited the oldest bakery in Split where we enjoyed amazing pastries, a local coffee shop, and a special jewelry store run by a father and son. Her tour made our stay so special and we gathered so many special memories. Thank you Kristina!!!! Hope to see you again soon!!!
If I could give 10 stars I would! Kristina was absolutely fantastic! She was so open to suggestions, tailored a tour just for us, and provided the perfect balance of history and context, making the tour amazingly enjoyable. She even went out of her way to help us reorganise our dinner reservations, speaking with our restaurant on our behalf. We were a group of 13, and everyone has said the tour was a highlight of the trip. Thank you so much again!!!
We'll start our tour exploring the Palace while visiting all the major sights, such as : - Peristyle - great photo op - Vestibule - very acoustic place, we can even sing :) - Cathedral of St Domnius - if you wish to go inside, be sure to have an appropriate clothes - Gates of the Palace . . . and many more. After that we'll explore: - Green Market - interact with locals while they enjoy their daily grocery shopping. For the end of the tour: Local cafe - we'll find a nice and cosy place and enjoy coffee like locals, sitting and contemplating :) Know that I can customize this tour!
