Hello to you all. I am Nikola and I come from Split. I was born and raised in Split. I have been a guide since I was 18 years old and tourism was coming back to Croatia after the war. I am a licensed tourist guide since 2002 and I am a founding member of Association of tour guides in Split. Being a tourist guide is in my blood. I am a passionate history freak since childhood interested in all kind of historical theaters. A walk with me is a trip down the path of deep inside historical view. I follow military history and always read military history books and magazines. I also follow politics and have opinion on world events and politics. I am a fan of Game of Thrones that I have been following since the first day and I was an extra in Season 5. You can see me well in episode 2 season 5. All historical and fantasy shows are my soul food. Lord of the Rings is one of the favorites. I like music and I have a hard rock/metal band. My favorite music is Heavy metal and I follow the scene for last 25 years. Also I am a fan of historical computer games and I am fan of Total War series since the beginning and I played them all. I am the author of 5 books. SF novel called "Legionares" that has been released to bookstores in 2022 and fantasy novels called "Children of the Founder" and the sequel "Children of the Empire" released in 2023 and 2025. I also wrote a manual for the "Operational aspects of a guided tour" for tour guides in 2022 and the biography of my grandfathers World War II extraordinary path "My Grandfather - The Last Nazi Death Camp Prisoner" in 2023. My books are available in English on Amazon and for the international market I write under the pen name Nick Altman. First of all I want to say I have been a die hard hard fan since day one of the Game of Thrones show. My friends and I read the first books back in 1996 when only 2 books were out. And I was an extra on the show in season 5. You can see me well in episode 2 in that season. Come with me and I will tell you my experience during the shooting of the show and how I spoke with Khaleesi (Emilia Clarke) and Ser Barristan Selmy (Ian McElhinney, who was killed on set here in Split by Sons of Harpy). We will visit all the locations where the show was filmed here in Split and we will compare them with screenshots from the show. Of course, we will uncover the real history behind the monuments that were used to film the show. Come with me and relive your favorite TV Show!
Nikola was a fantastic tour guide. His knowledge of the history of Split and Croatia was fabulous and he interwoven this with his personal perspective with the Game of Thrones. His stories and vignettes were funny and we really enjoyed them. I highly recommend his GOT tour
Fantastic tour and absolutely worth the time and money. We were met promptly and at a place slightly different than the official meeting point due to our need to have some lunch prior to the tour starting. Extremely knowledgable guide, very personable, friendly, funny, engaging. Would absolutely do it again.
Nikola did a great job on our Game of Thrones tour. My wife and 8 year old had fun, and hearing his stories and his ability as a tour guide were great. My regret is that we didn't book another tour with him. We later learned (he wouldn't mention this), is that he regularly gives tours to heads of state and dignitaries - and I can see why. Superior story telling skills and knowledge. Thank you so much for the great job that you did!!!
