Hello, my name is Vjeran ("faithful" in Croatian) and it would be my pleasure to be your host in this part of Croatia where I live and which I'm in love with. I am a private guide that offers private tours in Split and the surrounding area. I have worked as a licensed tourist guide for the Split region for fourteen years, but I've been involved in tourism since I was 14 (I am 44 now). After graduating from high school, with an emphasis on tourism, I obtained my undergraduate degree in tourism. I've been working at the Split tourist office ever since. My goal is not to give you just a tour. I would like to give you a memory. This region is, I daresay, one of the best there is when it comes to opportunities to see so many breathtaking places not far from each other. For example - the amazing palace built by the Roman emperor Diocletian, which has grown into the city of Split. Then, one of the most beautiful small towns in the world - Trogir. It is almost impossible to find a place of that size with so many monuments. Just minutes away from Split you will find the key to our history and Christianity - the ruins of what was once the glorious Roman capital of the province, Salona. From there you literally see another wonder - the fortress of Klis - where so much blood was shed in order to stop a fierce enemy, the Turkish army, trying to put to an and Europe as it was then. Heroes were made then, and heroes are being made now, with the fourth and the fifth season of the globally popular TV-series "Game of Thrones" which has been filmed in this area. There is so much more: natural wonders like Plitvice Lakes, The Krka Waterfalls and others. Islands like Hvar and Brač will capture your heart. You have just one day… No problem! Only half a day… Still no problem! Not more than a couple of hours… My answer remains the same - No problem! Tailor-made tours are what I'm all about. And my tours are designed to meet your needs and wishes. You tell me what you would like, and I'll do my best to make it happen. I do believe there are many people out there watching and loving "Game of Thrones". If you're one of them check out my tour - Split Game of Thrones tour. Why would you pick me? "There are no men like me. Only me. " P. S. Don't get me wrong, I don't think too highly of myself. I'd just like to think I'm at least a bit unique. -Licensed tourist guide for Split-Dalmatia county (Split, Trogir, Salona, Klis, Omiš, islands Brač, Hvar etc.) and Šibenik-Knin County (Šibenik, Krka Waterfalls) -Driver's Licence (car, van) No restrictions

Two locations, glorious at the time when the Romans ran the show, still testify to the greatness of that ancient civilization. Diocletian's Palace in Split - included on UNESCO's World Heritage List - unique monument in the world. Where else can you find a retirement home of a Roman emperor? After the fall of the Roman Empire, life went on in Split. Time went on, and the different nations conquered this area, but the Roman architecture survived along with all the architectural additions of the centuries that followed. Salona is a different story. The archeological site of what once was the greatest city of this Roman province called Dalmatia remains full of the Roman spirit. Take a walk with me among the ruins of the basilicas where Christianity blossomed. There are sarcophagi and gravestones to be found every step of the way, an amazing amphitheater, and so much more. Let me be your guide for this time travel. You'll feel like time has stopped here, and become a Roman citizen, if only just for a while.
- After we meet, our journey will begin with a short drive to Salona (just at the exit from Split) - We'll walk through this "archaeological gem"; I'll tell you its story and show you a lot of amazing Roman remains here (basilicas and cemeteries, the city walls, the Episcopal Centre, the city baths, the city gate, the amphitheater, and even more) - Here you'll have a lot of great photo locations (my wedding video was filmed here) - After this part of our tour is done, we'll go to Split - We'll explore the old town together, the monuments, inside and outside of Diocletian's Palace: - The Substructures (optional entrance), the Peristyle Square, - Palace Gates, - the Cathedral of Saint Domnius that once used to be Diocletian's mausoleum (optional entrance: the Cathedral, the Belltower, the Crypt, the Baptistery/once Temple of Jupiter), - People's Square, statues of Gregory of Nin and Marko Marulić. . . * The suggested itinerary can be altered before booking and even while on tour to fit your needs
