Hi my name is Jarmi , born and raised in Chile and have been a guide for the past 15 years in Chile and also Hawai'i. I started in Patagonia in my early 20s, I later traveled to the Hawaiian Islands where I had a small tour company for the next 9 years. I decided to move back to Chile and continue to be a guide here. I also offer several days tours to the south and north of Chile . We would travel in one vehicle no public transportation and stay at lodging where it's only us. I love our indigenous culture Mapuche that with all my travels throughout the years I have had the chance to work with them, learn their culture and be part of this new movement of local, indigenous experiences for guest from all over the world. I have specialized as a guide in the north, south and central part of the Chile. If you are into history, birds, wildlife, photography and a local experience I'm your guide! I went to school for film and arts and my passion is taking pics and making videos of my travels. I like to stay informed about all our latest news and know about the social movements in Chile, politics and more! We will walk around different areas of the city. of Valparaiso. We will review the writings on the wall , and the many beautiful murals Valparaiso has to offer as a Patrimony city named by the UNESCO. We will talk about what's happening to our country in depth and why it began in 2018 This tour is great for journalists, photographers, historians and just curious guest. Its a Very special tour and you will learn a lot about our people dating back to our indigenous roots making Chileans very unique and also the example for other countries to start their social revolutions. My family all have ties to political movements that date back to the 70s where we had a dictator president for 18 years leading a very strict government were communist were not allowed at all and many till this day are looking for their lost relatives disappeared during the military take over in 1973. They were killed and disappeared by the military regime. I invite you to learn and enjoy !
Your Valparaiso tour itinerary
- We will meet at a metro station or I will pick you up at hotel or port around 10:00 am and head to the city of Valparaiso. - We will stop and visit zone 0 where the first protest started located in the heart of downtown Valparaiso. We will walk around the area for pictures and story telling for about 20 mins get coffee, we have several places to choose from. - We will drive up the hills park and walk around for about an hour or so from, 11:00 to noon. I would say moderate walking and will always have the vehicle close by in case you want to view the city from the van. - We will get a bite to eat and finish our tour with feelings and conversation about the tour. its about a 4 to 5 hour tour. The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences, times and interests.
