Full day Valparaiso and Viña del Mar Coastal Cities

We feel so fortunate to have found Leo on Tours by Locals and to have him as our tour guide for a Santiago tour when we arrived in Chile at the beginning of our vacation before our trip down to Patagonia and again for our Full Day Valparaiso and Vina del Mar tour when we returned to Santiago before flying home. Leo is the best communicator we have ever had with quick responses to any questions before, during, and after our tours. He speaks excellent English, which we really appreciated and has great knowledge about history which we also enjoy. He made our time in Santiago so easy and stress free even helping us with transportation from the airport. Leo quickly became our Chilean friend during our first Santiago tour, and we felt so comfortable at the end of our vacation meeting him again and having him show us around the beautiful seaside city of Valparaiso "Jewel of the Pacific" known for its colorful clifftop homes, narrow steep streets and funicular incline. He had some surprises including the best view from his friend's art shop in Valparaiso and taking us down the funicular to the beautiful navy building in the square. When Leo found out we wanted to buy a piece of jewelry with Lapis Lazuli, the blue rock only found in Chile and Afghanistan, he took us to his favorite jewelry shop and helped us. On our way to Renaca Beach on the North end of Vina del Mar, Leo again surprised us stopping at a museum with an Easter Island statue outside. We had a chance to walk on popular Renaca Beach and to see beautiful Vineyards and Wineries near Vina del Mar. Our family loves to go to places only locals know about, and our final surprise was having Leo's favorite Chicken Soup and Corn Pie at his favorite local restaurant. Our days touring with Leo will always be a special memory of our vacation in Chile. If Leo is available during your vacation, please do not hesitate to book with him! Leoncio met us at our hotel in Santiago and drove us to Isla Negra to see Pablo Neruda’s home. It was a delightful drive as Leoncio is very knowledgeable about Chilean History. The visit to Neruda’s seaside home was truly magical and gave us insight into the man that he was. Isla Negra has a beautiful setting and I’m grateful to have seen it, thanks to Leoncio. Afterwards we drove to Valparaiso and saw all the beautiful views of the harbor from the hills. Then we took a walking tour of Cerro Concepción and saw all the murals. We stopped for a coffee break at a delightful café. Leoncio is very kind and personable! We took a funicular down to the bottom of the hill and continued to wander around Valparaiso getting acquainted with the city. After our tour was over he drove us to our hotel in Viña Del Mar. it was a very memorable and pleasant day. I highly recommend Leoncio for any tour!

My wife and I spent two days touring Santiago, Valparaíso, and Zappallar with Leo and his son, having so much fun along the way. They were both so attentive to our special needs and made our time spent with them extra special. We enjoyed getting to know their family, learn about the Chilean culture through its history, and tasting local cuisine. We highly recommend touring with Leo and ask him to get a boat to see the penguins.

We hired Leo for 4 full days of private guided sightseeing for our group of 4. What a fantastic experience!! Two of Leo's sons also came on some tours, and shared their insights about Chilean life, culture, politics and economics for an added bonus! Although professional and punctual, by the end of our tours, Leo and his sons felt like family!!
