Wonders of Valparaíso: A Day of Art, History, and Scenic Beauty

We had such an enjoyable tour with Marcello. He was so interesting and informative. We saw the real Valparaiso and learned so much about its history. We had several opportunities to stop at artisan markets to view goods made in the area. We saw the gritty side with loads of graffiti (and some of it stunningly artistic). We also saw the posh beach and resort area where we enjoyed a walk along the promenade. Marcello alo found us a lovely place for lunch over looking the ocean. After the tour, we needed to buy a few things before boarding our cruise ship ans he was kind enough to take us a market and even went in to help us find what we needed.

Marcelo was fantastic. Valparaiso is an interesting city filled with art, although a bit scruffy here and there. Marcelo knew how to make it an amazing day. Knowledgeable, flexible and wonderful company. And his lunch recommendation was great. Couldn’t ask for a better guide.

Had another wonderful day with Marcelo touring Valparaiso which was very interesting as well as Vina Del Mar which was a stunning surprise! Marcelo arranged a fantastic lunch serving the freshest fish ever along with beautiful views. He shared his interest in local wines as we drove through several beautiful valleys. We appreciated his enthusiasm of the area as well as a wonderful sense of humor. Highly recommended!!

Excellent day out with our experienced guide Marcelo. The little extras and surprises were very enjoyable. I will not spoil it for others but just to say it was a first for us. The choice of restaurant was equally good with a relaxing meal before our return to the ship. Marcelo was very good at making us enjoy the experience the way we wanted.

Marcelo gave us a wonderful tour of Valparaiso. We wanted to see the city murals and he delivered. He was waiting at the cruise terminal when we got there. He took into account we had been up all night on the flight and that my husband had balance issues. He made sure to get us close to any stops so it was easy on my husband. He included a stop at a cute cafe for very good sandwiches for lunch. I felt very safe and comfortable with Marcelo and would highly recommend him.

I took a penguin tour with Marcelo and it was amazing. The ship tours only had a few minutes with the penguins but I had over an hour before all the tour buses started arriving and could have had more time but I wanted to leave before the area was over run with people. Marcelo met us at the end of the pier with a sign with my name and everything was very easy and he is very knowledgeable about the area. Highly recommend him for you!
