This place is one of the most famous sights on the island, and although you may visit it on a full-day tour, seeing it in the early morning with the sunrise light is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

This tour will give you time to contemplate and meditate in front of the statues, taking you back in time to what the ancient inhabitants of the island woke up to every day.

Is important to know that during the winter season, between April-October, the sun will raise behind the volcano and not directly behind the statues, even though, the beauty of it is outstanding.

We will visit all the important sites in the town of Hanga roa.

One of the highlights will be the Anthropological museum Padre Sebastian Englert which inludes an original female stone statue and the eye of a moai in its exhibition.

We continue with the Catholic church and its fusion of polinesian and catholicism in the carvings both inside and outside the building.

We finish the tour with the souvenir craftmarket and the main fishing habour in town called Hanga piko, where arqueology and modern day life must co-exist but always maintaining the respect for the culture.

This hike was designed for those who want to do some hiking but not a very strenuous one and still enjoy the nature and the landscapes the island has to offer. 

Difficulty: Moderate. The terrain is mostly grass easy to walk with some mild hills up and down. Total hike 5K (3 mi).

The cliffs of Vai a Tare

This tour is very popular because of the views we can get from the highest point of the island, being the only place of the island where you can see ocean all around and the line in the horizon in 360 degrees.  

The hike is moderately strenuous, elevation gains 250 meters (820 ft). Total hike 10K (6 mi). Terrain is grassy and easy to walk without rocks or uneven areas, but hilly, constant elevation during the hike sometimes mild elevation and sometimes steeper.

Hike to the highest point 

This hike will focus on the caves and lava tunnels and one archeological site unrestored. The landscape is quite different from the rest of the island because of the lava flows and dramatic cliff on the ocean side. 

Terrain is rocky and uneven and mostly flat with moderate inclined sections. The visit and walking inside the caves are relatively easy with some areas that have uneven terrain, lose rocks and low height inside. Only one cave has a more difficult entrance that is very narrow for a few meters but then widens and we can walk standing. Elevation gains 80 meters (250 ft). Total hike 9K (5 mi).
