Hello! Thank you for visiting Santiago and its surroundings. I would love to be your guide and connect you with the local culture and people. My name is Paula, I was born and raised in Santiago and since I was an exchange student I have been fascinated by traveling and the opportunities to learn and discover different people and cultures. I have been working in the field of tourism since 2001 in different positions, but my favorite part of the job has been to share my country with visitors from other parts of the world. I also love to design tours and visit places where travelers usually don't go to create a true local travel experience. We may be a small country but full of interesting, funny stories that I would love to share with you: Why do we drink tea and call it time for "onces" (Elevens)? Would you like to have Chilean "onces"? Of course! Let's do that! My favorite tours have history, culture, interaction with locals, local cuisine, and wine and I love not only to talk about that but to taste it! I'm looking forward to meeting you and being able to introduce you to the local Chilean culture. 23 years of experience in tourism as local guide, tour leader, customer services and operations with an international tour operator Certified Local Guide in Central Area of Chile by SERNATUR (Chile's National Tourism Service) Master in Sustainable Management of Touristic Destinations by OMT Bachelor's degree in Psychology. Universidad de Chile. Member of the Profesional Tour Guide Association of Santiago. First Aid Course A course of History of Santiago and Ancient Cultures I prefer not to drive and focus on the tours. I can accompany you in your vehicle or I can arrange for a separate car and driver.

Valparaiso is one of the oldest cities in Chile, the only one without a foundation date and for many years, the main port of Chile and South America. Nestled among its 42 colourful hills is a bright past, key in Chile's development, a port culture with bohemia and vanguard. Modern technology, including telephone, elevators, trolley buses, and cinema, arrived in this city over time. This first newspaper in South America was also founded here. With the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914, Valparaiso began a slow decline in prominence but its rich legacy was key to being declared Patrimony for UNESCO in 2003. We will walk the streets of Valparaiso and learn about its history. We will admire the murals of local artists mixed with 19th and 20th-century architecture. We will ride a 100-year-old elevator to visit Sotomayor Square and a “colectivo” up Merced Hill to the home of Coto and Fabiana, who will prepare lunch for us and share some histories of their lives in the port.
