Overview of your Valparaiso tour
Valparaiso is perched among the hills which describe, though people and architecture, the past of the one of the most magnificent harbors in the Heritage site by UNESCO, which resulted in a boom for tourism and culture and the Cultural Capital of Chile, has been an important part of the country's history. It's a large bay with 45 hills around it that have naturally formed a spectacular amphitheater, the sea is the stage and each houses a seat with a panoramic view of the harbor. Its hills are characterized by their view points, promenades, steep stair and Narrow Street that if they had been formally designed they would not have the magic they have. As if this was not enough, the hills have funiculars, called elevator, that connect ordinary people, from the heights where they live, to the plan where business activity operates in the city. These funiculars were built since year 1883, today they are National Monuments, a many of them are still operating. Continue to the coast and visit the town of Viña!

Gabriel was the perfect tour guide. He arrived at our hotel to pick us up with bottled water and questions about our travel temperature preferences, paying attention to the most subtle details. As we got started, he pointed out landmarks in the neigborhood and on the way out of the city. He spoke great English and was very easy to understand. Most importantly, he was EXTREMELY knowledgeable about Santiago, the country and its history engaging in good conversations with us about Chile's culture and political history. Once we got to our destinations, he knew about specific buildings, good places to eat and shop (local art work) and knew many of the locals along the way. It was a great tour that included the coast of Chile and wine country with an AMAZING tour guide. I highly recommend Gabriel and Tours by Locals.

Gabriel was an amazing guide. He was punctual and very communicative. Our tour exceeded our expectations. His vehicle was clean and comfortable. He is very knowledgeable about the history of Chile and we learned so much from him. We especially enjoyed our walk around Valparaiso and wine tasting at Casas del Bosque. He took care of the wine tour and tasting reservation for us. The entire day was relaxing and enjoying. I highly recommend Gabriel as a guide.

Gabriel is an outstanding guide for this full day tour. We are tired of group tours and chose this private tour. It was wonderful!! We got a perfect amount of walking the hilly streets in Valparaiso and were able to stop in several other spots for pictures. The tour finishes with the perfect winery visit which includes time in their vineyard, plant and wine tasting room. Gabriel is a fountain of knowledge and excellent driver. I highly recommend taking a tour with him like my wife and I did.
