I am Amelie and I have over 15 years of experience as a travel industry professional. I became a Montreal certified guide in 2016, after I fell in love with this amazing city. An avid traveler myself, I love to hear about the history of a city, its architecture and the people that have made it become what it is. As an anthropology graduate, I also love to learn about how people live in a city today. This is what I try to do with every visitor that join my tours: show them the Montreal "then and now". I also love street art, gastronomy, and cultural events, and I make sure to share that passion on my tours. From its many festivals, food scene, lifestyle, arts, cultural neighborhoods, many parks and green alleys, Montreal is a remarkable place to live (and to visit) and I would love to show you what made me fall in love with it! Bachelors in Anthropology at Université de Montréal (2024) Professional diploma (AEC) in Tourist Guide of Montreal (2016) College Diploma in Tourism Management (2007)

Old Montreal has been a place of meeting and at the trading crossroads for millennia's, long before the first European settlers came. Officially founded as a catholic mission, Montreal soon became at the core of the fur trade, and its port thrived well into the 20th Century. Walking the cobblestone streets is an opportunity to learn about Montreal's history the the important events that made it once the metropolis of Canada. Nowadays, the area is still a living quarter, where Montrealers live, work, and dine. This visit is a true "Montreal then and now" tour, when you will learn about the history, some important character in Montreal, how the city evolved in terms of urban planning, and Quebec society.
These are the areas we will cover during our tour together: - Place d'Armes - World Trade Center - St. Paul Street - Place Royale - Old Port - City Hall - Place Jacques Cartier - Bonsecours Market
