Hello and welcome, I would be most happy to show you my Vienna: Elegant, full of art and history and at the same time a vibrant and very livable city in the heart of Europe. There are impressive and scenic places to show, countless stories to tell, surprising connections to make. Architecture, famous personalities, the changeable fortune of the city but also the small and "typical" details do make Vienna unique for me. This is exactly why I decided to become a guide. After majoring in political science and German philology at the University of Vienna and many years working for European Union programs I finally turned my fascination for my hometown into my profession. Having completed a two-years training course I passed the Austrian state examination for tourist guides in 2017 and since then I have been a full-time guide offering inspiring tours in the city as well as in many museums. Becoming a guide has been the best decision in my professional life. I simply love sharing my knowledge of Vienna and my enthusiasm for this city with visitors from all over the world and I gladly adjust to the interests of my guests. On this intense walking tour we explore the most important landmarks of Vienna's city center. Impressive squares and many buildings are witnesses of times long past, when Vienna used to be the capital of the Habsburg Monarchy. Vienna's old town is full of history and anecdotes. With an open eye for small and surprising details we start our tour at the Vienna State Opera. It is one of the most renowned opera houses in the world and situated directly at the Ring Boulevard ("Ringstrasse"). We continue to the big Hofburg Palace complex and proceed via Michael's Square with its fascinating architectonic ensemble to the elegant Graben Square. Our tour ends in front of Austria's most important gothic structure, the impressive Saint Stephen's Cathedral. During and at the end of the walk I gladly provide you with information for your further orientation and tips for your time in today's Vienna. This tour is perfect for first time visitors with a rather tight time schedule or in the cold winter months.
