Visiting my grandparents' fields weekly, made me grow among vineyards and mountains, riding horses, climbing, and driving off road every weekend… which awakened in me, this huge passion for wine, the Andes mountains, and off roading. This is a unique place in the Andes mountain range, no other place has an environment like this. . . magical, full of incredible stories, from Incas to Saint Exupery. . . peacefull place!! Laguna del Diamante, called like that, because of the diamond that is formed in it calmed waters, when the volcano Maipo is reflected in them. Is a unique place in the Andes mountains, at 3200 meters altitude (11000ft) fulfilled with events and histories: as the french pilot Henri Guillaumet, companion and best friend of Antoine Saint Exupery, who had to land in emergency in the lagoon while it was frozen in 1930. Or the Gaucho's tragedy, in 1953. . . Preserved by the natural provincial reservation, Laguna del Diamante is a magic place, almost virgin, where enjoy it will be something very simple and highly gratifying. After many years, and having visited this place more than 50 times, I have known every corner, secret and story that this magical place posses. I invite you to discover this magical place togheter!
Your Mendoza tour itinerary
- We will leave Mendoza city at 7am and will go to San Carlos, in Valle de Uco, at 150kms south, driving on the legendary 40 route. The entire route is going to be amazing. . . the first part will take to the south driving next to the Andes Mountains, having lovely landscapes, and driving through two departments of the Valle de Uco. - Then, we're going to drive directly into the hart of the Andes, deeply and deeply arriving to our first stop that will be the Ranger Station to register our entrance to the reservation and then continue ascending until arriving to Laguna del Diamante, where we will spend a great day to the edge of the lagoon, enjoying a rich lunch with some exquisite mendocinean wines, doing a walk after this, and then, return to Mendoza city. -We're going to arrive to the city at 8pm aproximately The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and interests.
