Overview of your Mendoza tour
This tour means a lot to me because in these places I took my first steps driving without my father or my grandfather, who were the ones who taught everything about the Andes. Every time I visit this magical place, it reminds me of that first time I went alone in search of the great off road adventure. Walking or driving off road, are the only possibilities of coming to the more beautiful and secret corners of the central Andes, in Mendoza, Argentina. The only way of being able to know all these wonderful places, is driving for old valles and centenary ways, some belonging to the Inca's legacy. This is a trip to enjoy the Andes in Mendoza and special for those who love the mountains, the outdoors and nature. During this tour, we will cross two of the three ranges of mountains, who make the Andes. Also we'll spend the day in places used as locations for movies as "Seven years in Tibet" (Brad Pitt 1996) or the remake of Lucky Luke (France edition 2009), Revolución (Argentinian movie about our independence)
Your Mendoza tour itinerary
- We'll have a short city tour, during we leave the city. - We will get to "Quebrada del Gaucho Cubillos", one of the the first steps General San Martin made during the liberation campaign in Mendoza (and South America!)This ravine was also a key place in the eighteenth century for cattle smuggling from the city of Mendoza to Uspallata, San Juan, and Chile by the legendary Gaucho Cubillos. - We will visit some of the places in which Charles Darwin based his studies, where he found fossilized remains of plants and petrified coniferous forest. - We will go up the ravine from 750 masl to 3000 masl, to the highest place of the Andes in Mendoza, accessible by car. - After lunch, we'll drive in a fantastic route, the Year Route, with 365 curves. . . and then back to the city. The itinerary can be customized according to your preferences and interests.
