Hello - My name is Neil, I am 68 years young and I have lived and worked in Liverpool for all of my life! I am a great admirer of the city, its people and its culture. I have been working for toursbylocals since 2012, undertaking more than 300 tours in and around the city. I firmly believe that the best (and certainly the most safest, in these difficult times) way to explore Liverpool is by foot. The City Centre is compact but never too crowded with lots of space in its many squares and parks to sit back, rest and enjoy the atmosphere between exploring the places and sights I will guide you to. The place is steeped in History and people are amazed to learn the extent Liverpool has played in shaping modern history. I have been astonished too at the changes to my home cities landscape over the last 20 years and have witnessed the resurgence of Liverpool to become once again a global city of importance. I often say my earliest memory, at the age of eight, was hearing the roll of drums that opened the Beatles first massive hit 'She Loves You' on the radio, my love of their unique sound and melodies has never diminished since.
