Hello! I'm David, a lifetime New Yorker and I'd love to show you around my city. The many journeys and experiences I've enjoyed here have only increased my love of my hometown. I have an advanced knowledge of its history and have participated in as well as led many walking tours here and around the world. I founded my catering and event planning business, Indiana Market & Catering, here over 35 years ago and have been featured many times in the New York Times, New York magazine and periodicals all over the country. I am also passionate about my teaching and public speaking career, currently teaching part-time at the Institute of Culinary Education, offering my background in restaurant management, customer service and leadership skills. Outside of these worlds, I've always found time to give back to my community in so many ways. I currently reside in the East Village but know the rest of this great city really well. Everyone should visit New York at least once in their lives to see it firsthand and explore its many pleasures and beauty. I promise to show you the well-known sights and intriguing hidden gems, as well as the best places to dine, buy, and have fun. David was a fantastic guide. He reached out in advance to understand any needs and preferences of our group so he could tailor the tour to us. Because we had a time crunch we started the tour at Hudson Yard and ended at 911. We learned many interesting stories about NYC that were well beyond what I’ve seen on other tours. Because we had one in our family who has never seen Central Park David provided us a printed self-guided tour of the park we could do on a day with more time. So thoughtful! I’d highly recommend!

A great day in the city with an excellent tour guide! David was a wonderful tour guide. From the minute he met us in our hotel lobby he was personable and friendly and it felt like we had know him for years. He was easy to keep up with as we walked around and he shared history and many interesting pop culture facts about NYC. We also enjoyed a slice of the greatest pizza in NYC and some donuts and other fun treats at Chelsea Market. We had a great day with David walking the streets of Central Park, the Hi line, and ground zero. It was a full and fun day and it felt like we were touring with a great friend. I would highly recommend spending a day with David touring NYC! He was the best!

Your New York City tour itinerary

• We'll begin our tour in Central Park at its famous "heart, " Bethesda Fountain. "The Park" as locals call it, has been a favorite gathering spot for over 150 years with over 42 million visits a year • Next, we'll walk downtown on NYC's High Line. Once a functional rail line and now a community space, this raised green space provides incredible views of the city, not to mention peaceful gardens and great opportunities for photos and people-watching! • After, we'll stroll the charming streets of Greenwich Village and visit the iconic Friends apartment building • We will make our way to Chelsea Market, the first home of the Oreo cookie factory as well as dozens of unique restaurants and boutiques • We'll end the day taking in the reflecting pools at the 9/11 Memorial and enjoying the Oculus at the World Trade Center I am happy to adjust the itinerary to best fit your specific interests.
