Hi there! I was born and raised in Savannah and have always felt a deep love for my hometown and privileged to have been born in such a beautiful place. When I was a kid, my family lived in a turn of the century Queen Anne Revival house in an old part of the city, so History always had a very tangible presence in my life. It has never been just words on a page or a class at school- it was the space in which I lived. My dad, who was also born here, loved history as well- local history especially- and taught me all kinds of things growing up. He would take me out to Fort Pulaski and tell me about the Civil War; he would walk me around Colonial Park Cemetery and tell me about the gruesome Yellow Fever epidemic of 1820; it was never boring for me and I don't want it to be boring for you either. On my tours, I hope to leave you with the same love for Savannah and the South that I feel. Aside from educating you about the city's past, I want to show you where to look in the present for the most beautiful things, the best food, and the most fun. I am happy to serve as your personal concierge while you're in town and connect you with all the local fun and games that get obscured by flashier events with a bigger advertising budget. I have been involved in community theatre here since I was 9 years old and always keep abreast of what our local troupes are doing. I am also friends with several musicians in town and can help you figure out where to enjoy the best live music. I can help you pick which museums to go to, give you directions to outlying attractions, and do whatever it takes to make sure you get to experience Savannah beyond what you see in the glossy travel brochures. I have been a tour guide here for 21 years, been doing walking tours for 20 of those. Trust me, on foot is the best way to see Savannah. I have been conducting small, private tours for 13 years and am happy to let you go at your own pace, linger where you like, and rest whenever you need to. Wherever you come from, leave it behind and dive "behind the moss curtain" with me. Bonnie did a great job entertaining the 6 women. She tailored some of her stories to talk about the powerful women in Savannah history. It was a nice mix of history but done in a storytelling way. Not lots of facts that were boring. Bonnie was also really helpful in suggesting some restaurants for after our tour and the next day. She was super responsive with answering my questions while trying to finalize the details of the tour.

Bonnie was a fantastic guide. She taught us so much about the history of Georgia, and how Savannah became such a beautiful city. And she made it fun! She easily incorporated our other plans for the day into the tour, meeting us at the location we specified and heading us in the direction of our hotel. She gave us some great recommendations for food and shopping. She communicated with us the day of the tour to make sure everything was still on track, and she even brought an extra umbrella for the afternoon thundershower that inevitably caught up with us. We would definitely take another tour with Bonnie.

Bonnie is a Savannah local with a wealth of knowledge about her city that helped connect the past to the present as we walked together. Our walking tour started at the fountain in Forsyth Park, through the market offering art, food, and local crafts. We continued through the beautiful oak tree lined squares visiting monuments honoring and learning about the founding of Georgia by James Oglethorpe, American Revolutionary War heroes Casimir Pulaski, the father of American cavalry and sergeant William Jasper who heroically fought through enemy fire to secure his company's flag. Each square advancing us further back in time to the oldest sections of Savannah. Bonnie's passion for Savannah history and her ability (& willingness) to answer our randomly asked questions brought Savannah's history to life. She was also very informed about modern Savannah, sharing some favorite streets to visit (so many beautiful homes and oak tree lined streets) and restaurants, chocolate shops, and pubs. Finally, we appreciated her honest story telling of the history of the city, the critical role of enslaved people and the many talents and trades leveraged through their labor to help build its beautiful architecture and infrastructure. We highly recommend Bonnie for an historic walking tour!
