Hey ya'll! My name is Steve and I am excited you're thinking about joining me for a fantastic, fun adventure in the Nashville and Tennessee locale! Remember, if you don't see a tour agenda you like, I can always customize one for you. In fact, the majority of the tours I guide are just that. Just message me! Originally from Texas, I moved to Nashville in 1992 and started giving private guided tours the very next year. I was drawn here for the music, became a professional songwriter on Music Row in '93 for Ten Ten Music, the same folks who introduced and managed Alan Jackson (whom I met a sang with on one of his Christmas albums!) and Keith Urban (who I had the privilege of hanging out with one on one and wrote a song with!); and went on to write for Starstruck (Reba McIntyre's company), and MCA. During my time on the Row I got to meet or spend time with pretty much every artist of the 90's and early 2000's, from Garth to Chesney, Chestnutt to Reba, and usually have a story to tell about any of those from that era. Having had several major artists record my songs, I left the business after 7 years and started a successful pool construction company, built swimming pools over 22 years for the likes of Jason Aldean and many others, sold the company in 2022 and semi-retired, to be able to spend more time doing what I REALLY love, showing people the charming and often hidden side of our enchanting city from a local's point of view. I'm a travel buff, having put together tours in Italy, other distinctive cities such as Charleston, Chattanooga, Charlotte, Memphis, Sedona and many more. I like to focus on the inside stuff, little known knowledge that will make the tourist feel like an insider after the tour. A music buff, studying and researching the history of country, blues, rock and alternative. We can talk about the musicians, artists and songs that make us laugh, move and cry! A history buff, having traced my own roots to their beginnings in the deep south. And researched the Civil War battles and paths that crossed our Middle Tennessee region, especially the journey of one I share my surname with, General John Bell Hood. I'm also a food buff, literally trying 100s of local restaurants, taking notes on them and their fare to share with others. Most of all, I'm a people buff! I love people in general! And my goal is to give my tour groups the amazing immersive experience of Nashville and Middle Tennessee that they would get nowhere else! Come join me for a unique and memorable blast of an adventure!! A private tour guide for Nashville and surrounding area for 31 years. Former professional staff songwriter for Ten Ten Music, Starstruck Publishing, and MCA Music. Recipient of multiple national and Tennessee state APSP awards for best design and build of swimming pools as owner and builder. Long standing member of the Better Business Bureau. Small group leader and Head Usher at local church. None.

My wife and I are waterfall chasing nuts! I started chasing waterfalls 40 years ago in Texas where they are typically small, few and far between. When I moved to Tennessee 32 years ago, I discovered that this is a waterfall paradise! With over 100 falls in the state, we have explored over half of them. I've screened through them and have chosen the best of the best, and most are right here in Middle Tennessee! And of those, most are very accessible. So I would love to share them with you! I've put together both a half and full day tour, so it's your choice how involved you want to get. Wear some shoes you don't mind getting wet or muddy, and get ready for an adventure you'll cherish for many years to come! The trails aren't a flat walk, they can get steep in places, but they are by no means brutal. And I'll be with you every step of the way. School age 3rd graders and up welcome. Dogs can be discussed. You'll want lots of pics of these amazing falls & I'll help with ones of your family no problem!
I'll either pick you up at 9am or 1pm (or 2pm Sundays) given your preference, in Nashville or within close proximity. If you need to meet further outside Nashville that can be discussed. We will drive to Manchester, approximately an hour away, and stop by the Old Stone Fort Park and headquarters for a brief orientation and visit to the souvenir shop. Then we'll take our time and hike down to three wonderful falls including Blue Hole, Big and Step Falls. After exploring those we'll return to the shop if you'd like to look for souvenirs. We will head back to Nashville at that point unless we are ahead of schedule, in which case I'll add a bonus waterfall that's not far away. Once we're done we'll hike back up and head back to Nashville. The whole trip there and back should last 3-1/2 to 4 hours. * This itinerary can be customized. Do not hesitate to contact me.

Private transportation is provided. I will pick you up at your hotel or AirBNB and I can take up to 6 passengers in my Highlander. Back seat's a little tight for 3 but two fit nicely. If we have more than that I'll bring the passenger van for an extra fee of $600. Or if you'd rather take your own vehicle, I'll meet you in the proximity of Nashville or an agreed upon point and you can follow me. Excessive extra travel may involve higher fee. The trails are walk only of course.
