Overview of your Nashville tour:

The Woman's Suffrage Tour is a journey of the footsteps Tennessee Women took to fight to ratify the 19th Amendment in 1920. This historic story involves learning about the Tennessee Women who successful lobbied the State Legislature to pass this historic amendment. Learn about Nashvillian Anne Dallas Dudley who organized the first woman's suffrage parade in 1914 and was instrumental of getting Nashville to host the national convention of the Woman's Suffrage Party that year. Hear the story of Frankie Pierce the African American woman who worked with the other woman to gain this right. The tour will discuss the two factions of the Woman's Suffrage Movement and how their different tactics were covered and successful. The story of August 1920 during the hot summer months will tell the story of why it was successful. You will hear the story about my great great grandmother who was born enslaved and was the first African American woman to register to vote in Nashville after the amendment passed.
