For many people arriving for the first time, Great Victoria Street is the beginning of their Belfast experience as they arrive by train or bus. As your Belfast born guide I want to welcome you to Belfast and tell about the unlikely Belfast success story. From a crossing at a sand bank, without any natural resources it mushroomed into a great Victorian city during the 1800s when shipping and linen played a major part in its development.
