You have not had the full Titanic experience until you have walked to Thompson Dock Belfast where Titanic departed on her maiden voyage. Join me outside the Titanic Centre Belfast (or another agreed meeting point) to start the story of the famous ship from inception in the drawing room of Harland & Wolf to the build on the slipways and on to Thompson dry dock where she had her final fit out and left sail to Southampton. Hear about the passengers on board and the one lady who sailed on the three Olympic class ships, Olympic, Titanic and Britannic. See the sights along the way to include Titanic Studios, H&W cranes and glasses of thrones, and the building blocks in Thompson Dry Dock the Titanic rested on - I will take you where the men who built the Titanic walked. You can then take your own private visit to Titanic distillery/Titanic Belfast. I highly recommend you do this walk first before the Titanic Belfast exhibit to deepen your understanding of the galleries at Titanic and to become a Titanorack!
Start Point - Meet at south entrance Titanic Belfast beside metal "Titanic" sign at 10am. Stop one - Nomadic tender ship and old caisson gate and get a great photo shot of the Nomadic and Titanic Belfast. Stop two - Titanica and Titanic Belfast sign and H & W drawing room Stop three - The slipways where Titanic and Olympic were built side by side - walk the promenade deck of Titanic and hear about the launch of Titanic. Stop four - Glass of Thrones/ Titanic Studios - sit on the metal chair at the stained glass window and imagine you are sitting on the Iron Throne and see the old painthall where most of Game of Thrones was filmed in Belfast. Stop five - The Great Light - an old light house optic. Stop six - HMS Caroline - one of the few surviving WW1 navy ships in the world. Stop seven - Thompson Dry Dock - where Titanic left for Southampton. Stop eight - Titanic Distillery Belfast You can then go on your own private visit to the distillery or walk back with me to Titanic Belfast.
