Hi everyone, my name is Nicola and I come from Tuscany, actually from a historical small village, nestling between Florence and Siena. Here I started to work as a tour guide and accompanist for Siena, Florence and their provinces. As a big lover of the beautiful surroundings I was born into and where I grew up, it was always clear to me that one day I would be studying history of art at the University of Florence; and this is exactly what I did. Aside of it, thanks to my father, I also grew a deep love and respect for Nature, that accompany me since I was a kid, and is still, together with culture and important point of reference in my life. Thanks to my beloved Tuscany, that has provided me with so much inspiring inputs, the fire of passion for this beautiful job has grown so much that I now want to do it in the land that has adopted me, Switzerland, where I live with my family since more than 2 years. A country, Switzerland, rich in history, art, culture, but also characterized by a glorious nature ready to be discovered and loved. With these premises, I am here to introduce myself hoping to arouse interest in the people who will visit my page, sure that together we will be able to spend wonderful moments and create indelible memories. It doesn't matter in which corner you are, there are hidden treasures everywhere. Whether it's a romantic castle ruin, an interesting museum, secret paths through old-grown forests or exciting tours through medieval town or villages - I'm sure I will make your day perfect and bring you a little bit closer to "my world". I'm looking forward to welcoming you, yours Nicola Licensed tour guide since 2013. Master degree in History of art at the University of Florence. Teacher and trainer of tour guides in 2018 and 2019 for Bottega Toscana.

Experience Bern through the eyes of a chocolate connoisseur. While the city is famous for its medieval arches, it is also the birthplace of innovations that changed chocolate forever. This tour takes you through the hidden history of the city that transformed a gritty bean into a global luxury. We will explore the "Golden Age" of Swiss chocolate, tracing the footsteps of pioneers like Jean Tobler, the creator of the iconic Toblerone, Philippe Suchard, and Rodolphe Lindt. You will discover why the Aare river was essential to production and how Bernese ingenuity led to world-famous inventions. This is not just a history lesson; it is a sensory journey. We will walk through UNESCO-listed streets, descend into the historic Matte district, and conclude our adventure at a premier local confiserie. Here, you will indulge in an artisanal tasting of pralines and single-origin creations. Whether you are a history buff or a lifelong foodie, this tour offers a delicious perspective on Switzerland's capital.
Itinerary: -Zytglogge (Clock Tower): we meet at Bern’s iconic landmark to discuss the 19th-century chocolate boom and how the city became a hub for master chocolatiers. -Kramgasse & The Pioneers: walking through the Old Town, we stop at sites associated with Jean Tobler and Philippe Suchard. We’ll discuss how Tobler’s Bernese factory gave birth to the world's most famous triangular chocolate. -The Matte District: we descend to the banks of the Aare river into the picturesque Matte neighborhood. This is the "cradle" of modern chocolate. We visit the site where Rodolphe Lindt invented the conching process in 1879, the secret technique that created the world's first smooth, melting chocolate. -Artisanal Tasting: our journey concludes at an elite chocolate boutique. You will participate in a guided tasting session, learning to identify flavor profiles of high-quality Swiss cocoa while enjoying a curated selection of the city's finest artisanal pralines and truffles.

This is a walking tour through Bern's UNESCO Old Town. We will stroll along the historic cobblestone streets at a leisurely pace, including a descent to the riverside Matte district. To ensure a smooth and comfortable experience, we could eventually take a short local bus ride to reach the artisanal chocolate shop for our final tasting. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended for the medieval pavements.

We will meet directly under the large arches of the Clock Tower on the Kramgasse side. I will be waiting for you there, right by the tower's historic passage.
