Born in the central part of Germany, I started with my parents hiking all over Europa while other kids laid at the beach. Soon as Teenager I was keen to achieve more and learned climbing and alpinism at the German Alpine Club. More than 15 years ago I decided to move to Switzerland, not for tax reason, but to be closer to the Alpes and thus being more flexible to cope with weather changes and alpine conditions. Now I am 55 years old and have almost 40 years of mountain and travel experience. I have guided many people, locals and tourists, here in Switzerland on snowshoes, ski, grampons and hiking boots. Furthermore, I am also course leader and guide for snowshoeing, alpine routes, trekking and via ferratas for the section Pilatus of the Swiss Alpine Club. Lucerne is my home base and from here I have explored all parts of Switzerland, from Ticino to Valais and Engadina. I know Central Switzerland very well and can show you attractive places in nature or cities. If you prefer we explore places away from the tourists' crowds, but if you are here for the first time you maybe would like to see the standard sights. I am very open to offer you tailor-made excursions, no matter if you are families or couples, colleagues or friends, naturalists, hikers or alpinists, photographers. Let me know your dream how to explore Switzerland and I show you the right place! I am looking forward to make your stay in Switzerland comfortable, joyful and memorable!

From the top-station at Klein Matterhorn with a height of 3882 m you'll hike within less than 2 hours to this Glacier Peak, close to Matterhorn. At 4165 m you enjoy a fantastic view over endless glaciers and dozends of peaks of more than 4000 m. You do not require alpinism skills. The lack of oxygene will require deep breathing and you need to be ambitious to reach the summit. The technical requirements are low and no climbing skills are needed. The guide takes you on the rope and you'll wear grampons to have good grip on the ice. Afterwards you will visit famous Zermatt where you can reward yourself with shopping and/or with delicious food in one of the endless restaurants. If you are interested there is of course the option to go before or afterwards on hikes or other summits, such as Allalinhorn. It would be better if you could stay before a couple of days in the mountains to get used to the altitude.
On the first day we'll take the train to Zermatt with minimal one stop in Visp. In Zermatt we will visit an alpine shop to rent our gear. Early on the second day we walk to the base station of the funiculare to Kleines Matterhorn. The funiculare will bring us to the highest stations in the Alpes. Reaching 3882 m you'll gain a breathless view over many 4000 m Peaks. It takes a while to get used to the altitude. We will start slowly and attach our gear right at the Peak Station. Beeing fixed with a rope we will cope with the grevasses on the glacier. With moderate pace we reach the summit of Breithorn, 4165 m after app. 90 min ascend. You will be proud of yourself and enjoy one of the best Panoramas in the alps. The descend will be almost a stroll for you. Getting back to Zermatt with the funiculare you have time enough to explore the mountain City.
