Hi everyone, my name is Nicola and I come from Tuscany, actually from a historical small village, nestling between Florence and Siena. Here I started to work as a tour guide and accompanist for Siena, Florence and their provinces. As a big lover of the beautiful surroundings I was born into and where I grew up, it was always clear to me that one day I would be studying history of art at the University of Florence; and this is exactly what I did. Aside of it, thanks to my father, I also grew a deep love and respect for Nature, that accompany me since I was a kid, and is still, together with culture and important point of reference in my life. Thanks to my beloved Tuscany, that has provided me with so much inspiring inputs, the fire of passion for this beautiful job has grown so much that I now want to do it in the land that has adopted me, Switzerland, where I live with my family since more than 2 years. A country, Switzerland, rich in history, art, culture, but also characterized by a glorious nature ready to be discovered and loved. With these premises, I am here to introduce myself hoping to arouse interest in the people who will visit my page, sure that together we will be able to spend wonderful moments and create indelible memories. It doesn't matter in which corner you are, there are hidden treasures everywhere. Whether it's a romantic castle ruin, an interesting museum, secret paths through old-grown forests or exciting tours through medieval town or villages - I'm sure I will make your day perfect and bring you a little bit closer to "my world". I'm looking forward to welcoming you, yours Nicola Licensed tour guide since 2013. Master degree in History of art at the University of Florence. Teacher and trainer of tour guides in 2018 and 2019 for Bottega Toscana.

Bern is a city of layers, where the most captivating stories are etched into silent stones or hidden behind heavy, unmarked doors. This journey is designed for the curious traveler who wants to see the "unseen." We will trace the city’s ancient expansions, uncovering architectural anomalies, cryptic symbols, and aristocratic courtyards that remain invisible to the untrained eye. My goal is to grant you access to spaces typically closed to the general public—be it a silent sacred interior, a private historical courtyard, or a descent into the city's archaeological roots. Because many of these "secret doors" open only at specific times, every tour is a unique, live exploration. I will share the legends that locals whisper and show you details that define Bern's true, mysterious soul. If you are looking for an insider’s perspective on a city that never stops surprising, this is your key to the "Forbidden Bern."
Itinerary: -Subterranean Beginnings: we meet at Bern Station's lower level. This start allows us to visualize the city’s vertical growth and modern foundations before heading into the past. -The Outer Ring: exploring the final medieval expansion. Here, we find the last traces of ancient fortifications and monuments hiding dark, centuries-old legends. -The Heart and The Cathedral: a walk through the Old Town's most elegant streets and the Münster district. We will seek out hidden aristocratic courtyards, silent sacred spaces, and unusual architectural details around the Great Cathedral and its panoramic terrace. -Back to the Origins: our journey concludes in the historic Nydegg district. This is where Bern’s soul was born, exploring the atmospheric streets where the very first fortress once stood. Optional Secrets: With notice, I can check for exclusive access to "hidden" sites, such as historical tunnels or underground wonders, adding an extra layer of mystery to our path.

This is a walking tour through Bern’s UNESCO Old Town. The area is pedestrian-friendly and best explored on foot to discover hidden details. At the end of our journey in the Nydegg district, guests have the option to take a short and convenient bus ride back to the main station or the city center, as public transport links in this area are frequent and efficient.
Bahnhofplatz, 3011 Bern, Switzerland
Bern Main Station (Bahnhof Bern). We will meet at the lower level (underground), near the main "Meeting Point" sign or the large information desk. This strategic starting point allows us to immediately visualize the city's vertical history and modern foundations before we rise to explore the medieval streets of the UNESCO Old Town. I will be waiting for you at the designated spot; you will easily recognize me from my profile photo.
