Overview of your Bern tour:

In summer the Niederhorn is a fantastic excursion destination for hikers and nature lovers. The cable car will take us up to 2000 meters and will offer a spectacular panorama over lake of Thun and the stunning white summits of the world famous Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau as well as fascinating karst regions to explore. With a little luck we will be rewarded with the exceptional sight of ibex ("capricorns"), chamois and marmots. Please be aware some passages may be vertiginous. You will need: - good hiking shoes with a good profile - backpack - picnic from the backpack - hiking sticks might be helpful (I can provide you with them) I will provide you with a more detailed list upon booking. I will take you on a 4 hour hiking tour of the Bernese Oberland region. This hike will take place from July until mid of October (depending on snow).

Meeting place: Bern at the train station Cable car up to the Niederhorn. approx. 4h hike, ascent: 300 meters, descent: 950 meters Bus back to Thun or Interlaken

To and from the Niederhorn we will use public transportation. The hiking tour will be approx. 4h.

  • Other: My services as your personal hiking guide with - organisation and research (such as travel plan, time table, entrance and restaurant booking if necessary etc.) - During the hike I will supply some snacks with typical Swiss products - guiding you during the hike including information about geography, history and legends, local people, culture, etc.)
What's extra
  • Other: You are responsible for purchasing any items of a personal nature related to shopping, souvenirs and snacks. Picnic lunch: Please either take a picnic lunch with you since there is no restaurant on the hike or, if you feel more comfortable to have everything organised, I will be happy to bring with me a picnic lunch with a bunch of Swiss specialities that we will enjoy on our hike admiring the beautiful scenery. For this, please add about CHF 20-25 per person. Please expect to pay extra for public transport from Thun up to the summit Niederhorn and back to Interlaken by bus. Should you stay some days in Switzerland and travel with public transports, a special pass migth be useful and would reduce the cost mentioned above substantially.
