As a Mürren resident, I'm able to lead fascinating tours in the heart of the famous Jungfrau region of Switzerland. I am the tour leader for Mürren Tourist Office, helping guests from around the world to explore and enjoy this bucket-list destination. My background is in education, teaching Design & Technology for many years and latterly Outdoor Education. As a teacher I have travelled extensively, and now share my experience as I am the Swiss representative for an educational tour company. I am a qualified ski instructor with First Aid training, and a regular participant in sports events including the famous Inferno races! I would be happy to share my passion for the mountains and this beautiful location with you. Just let me know if you have any questions or requests. BEd Hons. Degree BASI 2 Ski Instructor

An excellent day with Nick in spite of disappointing weather. He smoothly managed complex and varied travel to and from Mürren A resident of Mürren, he has deep knowledge of the area. We especially enjoyed the early history of skiing. My husband has wide ranging interests and asked many questions from geology to politics and Nick responded with good discussions. He recognized our physical abilities and adjusted the pace appropriately. Tour had more stops and was richer than described.

Your Bern tour itinerary

Meet in Bern and purchase transport tickets. Board the train to Interlaken which takes one hour. Transfer to the regional train to Lauterbrunnen. The twenty minute journey follows the gorge formed by glaciers and the glacial meltwater of the Weisse Lutschine river with dramatic vertical rock walls. Mürren is not accessible by car and we will take the cable car to Grütschalp where we will transfer to the mountain railway with panoramic views of the iconic trio of mountains - Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau which takes half an hour. The walking tour traces the history of the village and explores the streets focussing on the architecture and the stories behind its development with an optional refreshment pause at a local inn or cafe. Return to Bern by train in approximately two hours. Alternatively I can pick up and drop off by car to drive to the Lauterbrunnen valley and takes approximately one hour.
