🌏 Welcome to Switzerland ! Based near Bern, I am a local medievalist art historian and archaeologist with broad cultural interests and over 30 years of guiding experience. I started guiding for Swiss, French and Spanish universities, museums and international congresses in 1994, then entered the tourism field in 2018 and became a licensed guide in Bern … and an official smile dispenser! ✨I am passionate about heritage: my tours are built on over 20 years of scientific research and publications in international peer-reviewed journals and exhibition catalogues. I love my job, because it gives me the opportunity to bring history to life for others. Guiding visitors through monuments, landscapes and traditions allows them to experience heritage as a living expression of the people who created it — as a three-dimensional illustration of history. I hope you leave not only with beautiful images, but also with a deeper connection to the places you have discovered. And in my opinion, this is possible only if knowledge is shared in an accessible, lively and fascinating way. A memorable journey is not only about what you see, but also about how you experience it. Every traveler is different. Whether you are interested in history and architecture, Swiss craftsmanship, mountain landscapes, roaring waterfalls or Alpine adventures, I create flexible itineraries designed around your expectations and pace, balancing sightseeing, stories, relax, and the simple pleasure of enjoying the moment. My goal is that you make meaningful discoveries and create unforgettable memories. 👉 Are you ready to uncover the Switzerland that most visitors never get to see? Pack your curiosity, I’ll take care of the rest. See you soon in Switzerland ! 📌 Qualifications: • City Guide Certificate, Bern Tourist Office • PhD in Art History, University of Lausanne • MA in Art History, University of Poitiers • MA in Archaeology, Pontifical Institute of Christian Archaeology, Rome • MA in Humanities, University of Geneva I am not a driver, but if you need one I can arrange a chauffeur for you.

In one day, you have the opportunity to journey through dramatic landscapes and compare two Swiss capitals whose destinies shaped by power and creativity both mirror and contrast with each other. While strolling through fountains, arcaded streets and beautiful façades, you uncover Bern’s origins around 1250 as an Alpine self-made capital built on economic strategy and political fiction. Moving to Biel, you find yourself immersed in a medieval fairy-tale of enchanting towers, colorful façades, legends of knightly rivalries and the struggle for freedom, before escaping along a scenic waterfall trail carved through the cliffs. At the Omega Museum, time unfolds as you move forward to 1870 and discover how watchmaking transformed Biel into an unexpected success story. Today home to Omega, Swatch, Rolex’s facilities and the Swatch Group, Biel has become the beating heart of Swiss watchmaking after salvaging the industry in the 1980s.
We meet at 9:00 am at the entrance of the Church of the Holy Ghost (Spitalgasse 44) opposite the Railway Station. If your accommodation is nearby, I can pick you up. We start with a 2.5-hour exploration of Bern’s UNESCO-listed Old Town, from the station to the Cathedral, including an inside visit. After a traditional Swiss cheese fondue lunch in the old town, we take a 30-minute train ride to Biel. There, we enter the world of Swiss watchmaking with a visit to the Omega Museum and an outside view of the spectacular Swatch headquarters. After discovering human creativity, we reconnect with nature during a refreshing walk through the Taubenloch Gorge, a dramatic canyon of waterfalls and cliffs. We then explore Biel’s colorful historic heart, a remarkably preserved, car-free late Gothic old town for a one hour tour, before returning to Bern by train around 7:00 pm. This is a fully personalized private tour. Please let me know in advance if you have special wishes regarding timing, places, or lunch.
