I joined ToursByLocals in 2024 and was honored with a 2026 Golden Guide Award for my DMZ tours delivering the most well-structured and immersive experiences during a single day. DMZ is the #1 choice by international tourists. Go on a DMZ tour with a veteran who served in a Combined unit (ROK/US). You will visit Cherwon DMZ and the 2nd infiltration tunnel which is 3.5 km long. You will be able to see a North Korean ground post, villages, military posts and so on. Oliver will setup a telescope for you to see interesting places easily. During this tour, diverse questions can be answered; 1. Details of the Korean war 2. South-North relationship 3. How South Korean feel about the North Korean nuclear weapons 4. North Korean defectors 5. Future prospect on the Unification 6. Other military issues Please, bring your PASSPORTS. Cherwon DMZ is closed on Tuesdays when you can join Paju DMZ tour. Entry to DMZ can change without a prior notice at the military authorities' discretion. You can customize the tour to add Sansawon (A rice wine museum) or GosukCheong (A scenic site near a river) in the afternoon at a small extra cost.
Oliver was simply amazing. His knowledge is extensive and we learned so much about history and culture of Korea. The logistical details were well taken care of and he made sure we had the best seats, spots, and experience. He was so kind and enjoyable to spend time with. It was a bonus for us that he spoke perfect English and also had extensive knowledge of American culture and history.

10 stars. This tour is a combination of seeing incredible physical beauty and also local culture, while experiencing (not just seeing but experiencing) the DMZ that most people will never see. You go 2 hours out of Seoul very comfortably but then arrive in the secure DMZ zone and see directly into a large valley with active military outposts. Then go into one of the invasion tunnels. It is like having the whole DMZ to yourself and just a few others. You easily see the NK outpost in this picture and a cell phone can take a good picture seeing soldiers. Oliver was excellent
