This is the fortress of the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) to protect Hanyang (now Seoul), the capital of the Joseon Dynasty. King Injo took shelter here in 1636 when the Manchus invaded the Joseon Dynasty. Peace was negotiated with the invading Manchus here in 1637. It is said that the king of Joseon knelt three times and hit the ground hard with his head nine times as a sign of surrender to the enemy king. In exchange for peace, the king had to send a large number of virgins to the Manchus (later the Qing Dynasty) as slaves. And you can visit the temporary palace also. At 'Korean Folk Village', you can directly see the shapes of various houses from the 'Joseon Dynasty', and you can also visit special houses from inland and island areas. There are various workshops, so you can have an opportunity to experience special techniques, and you can expect a fun time with regular parades. Also, as it is a filming location for famous Korean dramas, it will have a special meaning for fans of Korean dramas.
Benny was very knowledgeable and did a great job explaining the history behind the fortress. The folk village had a wedding ceremony that was very entertaining as well! Benny also took us to the amusement park at the folk village so the kids let off some steam on a few rides. We continued the tour with Benny explaining and showing us the different houses throughout South Korea and a swing ride/games for the kids. Benny did a fabulous job and I recommend this tour!

Namhansanseong Palace, with a rich history is located outside Seoul. The entire area looked fabulous with the autumn foliage. The visit to the Korean Folk Village waa also very interesting and rewarding because it is a replica of the Korean villages in the past. The best part was the folkloric show with musicians and dancers
